Hi all,
Wondering which hardware apparatus or software you guys thought did the best arpeggiation? The one in Logic Pro is fairly basic. Could you also share your favorite example of arpeggiation in a song? (Maybe a new topic?)
Thanks,
Geoff

Try EnergyXT's. Shiffrin, a member here, did a comprehensive set of patterns for it that covers about everything..
He also did a set of chords that can be loaded in line with the arp component that make one-finger/one note playing sound better than Bach..
Orion Platinum has a pretty good Arpegiator as well. The beauty of that one is you can use the arp easily from the VST wrapper & you have teh option of either rendering the notes in the arpegiatted pattern, or simply run the original edit through it non-destrucively.
That also has a chord component within the same window.
very cool stuff..

Korg Z1, Kawai K5000, Yamaha Motif, Yamaha EX5, Novation Supernova, in fact every arpgegiator deeptly editable, with chord capability.
But no equivalent for me (i'm using Cubase SL) in software until now ...

i really like the arpeggiator on my triton LE... though it's the same concept as what was mentioned... yamaha has always had great arpeggiation. i used to have a CS2X and that thing had some killer arpeggiator presets on it. agreed though, the arpeggiator in logic pro is pretty basic... though if you really start poking around in the environment functions, i'm sure you could construct something better from scratch. think i might go do just thatdahwoud wrote:Korg Z1, Kawai K5000, Yamaha Motif, Yamaha EX5, Novation Supernova, in fact every arpgegiator deeptly editable, with chord capability.

The Virus (
), has the best arpeggiator I know of. Espcially since you can link a LFO to the 'Arp Note Length'.
The Waldorf Q series had a nice one which you could program your self.

FLS native arp can be controled by LFO , or a custom time line you can draw in by hand ...
LFO speed > edit events ...
LFO speed > edit events ...

Somehow here nothing beats the simplicity yet very expressiveness of the Juno60 arpegio
(except perhaps the Fizmo-arpegio which lets itself easily alter to the needs within a tune)
software: I'd have to go for the versatility of FilterscapeVA/Podolski
