So you put the 'cute girl' and 'love' before 'interesting job', sounds good to me!
Last I heard, the most popular band in Spain was The Cramps! (whom I dig highly for their 'shock-a-billy' music
) But 'electronic scene' in Spain? You'll be the first to find it out of anyone here I bet.
I'll have to send The New Music over to do a expose on you when you fire up your gear and scare the crap out of the neighborhood!
Ole!

hehehe, yeah, I've seen a few of these.
actualy, a lady friend of mine got drawn into one of those pea-under-shells-scams. Before I could warn her she had lost about 50€. Was VERY interesting to see though
I don't have a wallet, if I'm walking on the streets I only carry money. If they steal money, aw well, not too bad, passport/ID/... is MUCH worse.
Allthough I now have an expensive camera, which is a constant problem on the streets of BCN

cristian vogel lives in barcelona.
i've been there a couple of times. these are 3 very known clubs in bcn:

www.nitsa.com/
www.sala-apolo.com/
you can listen a lot of house djs, and this summer i heard some electro pop.
i don't know about idm in barcelona, but i'm sure you can find with a little search.
and if you visit madrid i can tell you about 3 places at least

Possibly? I'm just an old fart that still thinks Placido Domingo was the last musical person to come out of Spain.
