Guenon wrote:Great job on the track, schiing! :D And on the contrary, I think it's very much in a genre that can find a lot of appreciation here! A beautiful showcase of the synth, and wonderfully retro.
Thanks so much, Guenon! I was just worried it was a bit too much on the easy listening side :hihi: (only kidding, I'm always ready to go where no man has gone before in the name of kitsch!)

And thanks for the tips, Peter:H!

Glad to help out, all the best!
Be sure the preset works with just a point or two before getting too invested in it.
Last night had done the testing with pbcurve in a little test project. I saved the preset as FXP.
Today I tried loading pbcurve in my osc project, loaded the FXP and the point I saved was there, but the line no longer went to it.
It just ignored the point completely and went right down to the bottom left corner like default.
So luckily just the single point wasn't too difficult to redo in my situation but I can't imagine the frustration of taking the time to make many carefully correct points and then have the line bypass them the next time the plug-in is used.

More gushing for Schiing’s track from me! I been hanging around for a few years, hope to get an entry in sooner or later :)

Yeah, Schiingon put on his poker face last month. We all got sharked this month!

But why are you holding out?

I think I found a better and simpler solution:

This is one of the JSFX scripts from the Reateam Reapack package, and I think it does enough with just a single parameter setting:
pitchwheelcontrol.png
I believe if you just set your "Output Range DN" to -6.0, you're done. You might have to scale the zero position of your wheel, but this setting handles the +-12 semitone range AFAICT.

Please let me know if this worked out for you.

Here are some miscellaneous web pages on the JSFX:

Thanks! Do it! I do not regret entering OSC for a second - the love I'm getting here is amazing

It'll probably be a hard fall next month, though, because I do not have the energy to handwrite arp'ing octad demisemiquavers over 8 bars every month!! :hyper: :scared:

Handwriting arp'ing octad demisemiquavers should only be done over 16 bars. Did you not get the memo?

8 bars is actually grounds for disqualification...shame, shame, shame

LMAO....7.5, just under regulations! :box: Probably won't help me in the least though!

Yes much simpler than the other one, thank you. It seems to be working quite well.
ReaPack has some great stuff, highly recommend all Reaper users check it out.
Thanks again for the help. :tu:

Random tangent. I just read that Soundcloud DOES NOT implement any loudness normalization? Does everyone just upload at 0 db there?

Schiing your track is killer. How did you know I secretly love smooth jazz.

I just upload at whatever level my track can tolerate. Not all tracks need to be blaring loud IMO. There is definitely a notable quality difference in Soundcloud's algorithms though. Hi hat's especially seem to get that "streaming on Youtube" washiness to them.
