Will there be an upgrade route to the Sonic Synth 2 sounds for owners of the Sonic Synth 1 group buy?

I got ST2 with the group buy so I'd like to buy the SS2 sounds without ST2. I've been reading the SS2 Genesis thread and would love some of those sounds.

I've also signed up for the Tron group buy so perhaps I don't need to upgrade to the SS2 sounds to get the Genesis style sounds? I'm not sure how all these sound packages differ. :? I don't want to buy more sounds if they a similar to what I've already got if you see what I mean.

I don't think you can get the SS2 sounds without the SS2 engine (but I could be mistaken about that) -- I doubt they'd play in SampleTank1LE, anyway (if you got ST1LE instead of ST2LE with the group buy). The SS2 engine really kicks butt, though. It also sounds like there'll be a very attractive offer for folks who bought SS1 to upgrade to SS2...

SS2 is based on the ST2 engine,so the sounds can't be played in ST1 LE or Full.In fact the SS2 engine is the full ST2 engine, with some minor tweaks in the interface, and able to play its own sounds only, but not LE's limits with respect to effects, synthesis type switching, etc. However, either ST2 LE or full version can use SS2 as a sound library.I don't have the impression it's available "sounds only".I'm pretty sure that the SS2 crossgrade for SS1 owners is $199.

When you do get SS2,and install it,you'll be able to use it and LE at the same time, overcoming the single instance limit of LE and giving you a 1-2 punch. The SS2 sounds will be useable in LE but not vice-versa,but think of it as having an Emu and an Akai. You can play both Emu and Akai sounds in the Emulator, but not Emu in the Akai. But a powerful rig nevertheless.

I think it's worth the ST full version upgrade to bring the two soundsets,SS1 and 2 together under the same roof with full programmability. My current plan is to get SS2,the drum capsule bundle and the ST engine only upgrade, filling out the library via Akai import and use my old libraries with Sampletank's engines and effects:my own unique rompler.

Yes, the SampleTank 2 family can play ALL ST format products including any of the libraries (Expansion Tank series, Sonik Capsules etc.) as well as the new ST powered sound modules like Sonik Synth 2 or Studiophonik or... ;) So, they can be read in ST2 LE with its more "player" features and in the full ST2 engine with L or XL.

The Tron library has some Genesis sounds but a lot of other things other bands used such as Chamberlins, Optigans etc. It's a cool collection of sounds that is really DIFFERENT.

Sonik Synth 2 has much more Genesis sounds including synths, pianos, organs and other things (including guitars, fx, drum machines, drum kits etc.) that sound like Genesis as well as a ton of different bands plus of course just completely unique sounding stuff as well.

Sonic Synth 1 group buy people will all qualify for a discounted upgrade to Sonik Synth 2 and if you have the ST2 LE that came with it you can think of this upgrade as getting a "sounds only" version so to speak... the only thing is that we include the engine anyway. Same price as what we would have done for a "sounds only" version. We figured we'd make more people happy that way so we decided to do it. This at least for the introduction of it. Maybe later it will switch to be a "sounds only" option but ironically it won't be less than the price of this upgrade so...

I got SS2 LE with the group buy so how do I upgrade to SS2 sounds? And how much will they cost?

You can buy the upgrade when it is available, but it isn't yet. The upgrade price to get the sounds is $199.
