Hello people,
Please educate me with your knowledge of digital recording.
I have two computers. Both Mac (desktop & laptop). I am using my laptop to control software/plug-ins such as kontakt, omnisphere, nexus...etc. and the output (stereo) of the laptop is connected into interface, and it's going out to another interface which is for the desktop computer that I record all the noise I create.
Now here is my question, Do I need reamp/Di box in between? or I can go straight into the interface for the desktop? Why am I recording software synths like this? Because I'm using hardware guitar effecters like reverb/delays. I know there are many other ways to set up but I feel this set up is the most comfortable for me to create. I almost feel like that I'm using a hardware synth.
Anyway I want to know when the signal goes out from the interface, it's line level? or should I use load box to correct impedance??
Thanks a lot:)
Re-Amp/Di Box Needed???

If it sounds good, it is good
But for a definite answer, you really ought to dig up the tech spec sheet of the effects you use and have a look at what it says. But in my experience it usually is fine to record such devices directly, without impedance issues. If you don't have issues such as loss of high frequencies or loads of noise, then I'd say it's fine.

We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
