Every time this comes up on the Sonar forum there are a good few popping in that say otherwise. They still want it at whatever cost.

That isn't a reliable measure but that is a reasonable barometer atleast for a patential new corporate buyer. There is bound to be a disgruntled and legitimate group of lifetimers that will hold out no matter what and hold it against the new company, time will tell and a lot who have moved on but when and if it is offered again there will be takers... Even by the lifer's.

Hey, if Image Line can end lifetime updates by renaming Fruity Loops to FL Studio, I think people can forgive ending lifetime updates because of bankruptcy.

I am a lifetimer. It worked that I paid for 12 months of updates and got 16, so I can't complain too much.

If Sonar is released under new ownership, I might buy in, depending on what they have to offer. If they expect to charge existing customers full price for the new product, I'm probably out. The right combination of discounts and new features might possibly draw me back.
Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

Apart from that, the name change had nothing to do with anything license, or update related, but, with a law suit from Kellogg's. :P

I am sorry, I thought I heard something about ending lifetime updates at the time they changed the name. I guess I remembered things incorrectly.
