contacting labels

Have any of you ever contacted a label and asked for an acapella for a particular song? I've read that some have actually done that with positive results (that is, not getting laughed at), saying that they'd like to remix the song and some labels are receptive to that. I'm curious if any of you have had such success.

I did, but they were insistant that I cleared the sample before they'd send it to me. Since I had no plans for an official release, this was obviously not going to happen. I reckon if its a smaller label they may help you, but forget the majors - half the time they have less idea where masters are than you!

Funny stuff. I bet if we all got a real good look at how the majors operate on a daily basis, we'd all have a good laugh.tee boy wrote:I did, but they were insistant that I cleared the sample before they'd send it to me.
