I own both and the UAD and T-Racks versions sound very similar. I prefer the IK version due to latency and CPU.

Vertigo VSC-2 is one of my favorite bus comp. I'm not totaly sure it was made as a 33609 but it sure is in the ballpark. I love graby VCA comps with balls. Another good freebie is the Molot in Sigma mode. It was made with 33609 in mind but not as a 1/1 clone.

I think the VSC was styled more after the SSL G series as the inspiration. I absolutely love the VSC-2 and it's one of my favorites. I lust after owning the hardware version someday hoping it's that much better than the plugin. I demoed the UAD 33609 and while nice it didn't grab nearly as much as the VSC-2. I'm using the PA native version of it.Boone777 wrote:Vertigo VSC-2 is one of my favorite bus comp. I'm not totaly sure it was made as a 33609 but it sure is in the ballpark. I'd say the Lindell Audio 254E is the one I prefer the most.
It's not a 33609 replica, but a Neve 2254/E replica.
Keep in mind that the 33609 is some kind of modern 2254.

I picked it up second hand on the market place for 70$. If you couple that with a Plugin Alliance coupon it should give you a reasonnable price. It rarely come on sale probably cause it's one of the favorites I guess...tappert wrote:Vertigo VSC-2 seems really good, I add it to my list but I'll have to wait for a sale because $299 is too much for me. Is it CPU intensive?
On a drum bus here, it gives me .70% of use in Reaper. Look at my signature for infos.

The Ik Multimedia Precision Comp is pretty tight sounding.
I believe the vertigo is a VCA comp and the 2254 and 33609 are diode bridge

You should be able to easily find one here if you post a "WTB" in the buy/sell section. When PA does put it on sale I believe it was $99 for the Xmas price. I bought mine here for $55 + transfer I think? There's also a Facebook page for selling plugins: https://www.facebook.com/groups/audiopl ... rketplace/tappert wrote:Vertigo VSC-2 seems really good, I add it to my list but I'll have to wait for a sale because $299 is too much for me. Someone is selling a VSC-2 right now for $100 which includes the transfer fee: https://www.facebook.com/groups/audiopl ... 5858392508
It's really one of my favorite overall compressors right now, but certainly try the demo. I quite often use it for 1-2db of compression (10-30ms attack / fastest release / 90Hz side chain) and it just adds that finishing touch. Adding that I predominantly use it as mix bus compressor.
