Another downtempo track - unusually for me a bit on the happy side. Let me know what you think!

If this happy what is sad then?-)

In my ears this is "early orbitalish". The pad/whatever sound might be a bit loud in the middle of the song - but at the beginning it's nice.. What synth is that?

The end is somewhat, er.., abrupt.



I like this and think I'd like to hear some more.

I like the main track. Some very nice writing, but I did not like the drums. They didn't fit in for some reason. As annode said the intro sounds very very cool.

Two synth pads are in the middle (when the main bells stop), Wusikstation and Synth1. Neither are at the beginning of the track.

Thanks progfusion. For the drums is it the sounds or the patterns that don't fit? I tried a bunch of different stuff for the sounds - nskit and a wizoo kit. Also drumatic, drumatic doubling attack, drumatic hard-panned opposite attack. They all sounded a bit too muddy for my ears, so I just stuck with a simple attack line.

Floyd, it was a mixture of the sounds and the mix. I would have prefered a more dub-like choice of sounds I guess.

Smooth! I like the sounds fading in from one side and swinging to the other. Some subtle stuff going on in the background, I really enjoyed it. But the bass drum is too high pitched, in my opinion. Maybe could use a bit of reverb on the snare, too.

You noticed Cool... And the most amazing thing is my hackish attempt at mastering didn't destroy the subtle stuff!

I sort of wanted the bassline to be the foundation of this song rather than the kick (which is somewhat high-pitched). And there is a bit of reverb on the snare... But my problem is I don't like any of the reverbs I have so I use them very, very little! I used kjaerhus classic verb on this track and although it sounds quite nice on synths, I don't much like it on real drums, instruments etc. Bottom line: I need to buy a good reverb!

Much enjoyed track where the pads do some wonderful things to the ears. I do have to agree with prog though about the drums. It's both sound (especially the snare) and the the rock-patterns that to my ears don't seem to fit. I'd suggest trying the track without any drums at all (although the hi-hats sound okay and certainly help with the melodic lines) and build the percussion anew from a more guiding point of view.
