How many tracks would be better with raspy robot voice?EDGEK8D wrote:how many tracks can you honestly use raspy robot voice in, right?
Don't overlook the Xils V+ which should not be too far from the Behringer.EDGEK8D wrote:I’ve given up on software vocoders....I’ve tried most of them and they stink, IMO. The free TAL-Vocoder is probably the best I’ve tried. All of the fancy features just make them not sound like real old school vocoders, ya know?
The VP-03 sounds pretty good, but now Behringer is making a VC-300 clone that clearly sounds better
I am still waiting for a high quality non-robotic "MIDI to Voice" VST to get released, but they don't exist in the VST world, because ALL of them sound bad or very roboticEDGEK8D wrote:I’ve given up on software vocoders....I’ve tried most of them and they stink, IMO. The VP-03 sounds pretty good, but now Behringer is making a VC-300 clone that clearly sounds better, and Waldorf is releasing the STVC which is like the Streichfett with a vocoder and a keyboard. Probably too much $ for just vocoding, how many tracks can you honestly use raspy robot voice in, right?
Yeah its quite possible they learned alot from the Vocoder and tried to do something new with that kind of tech by creating their Morph plugin, together with the help of other algorithms to get a seamless tonal transition. Well, ideally anyway.gentleclockdivider wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS_TH3MZ9XA
At 01:36 .
You can hear the vocoder effect in morph when using a drumbeat and strings .( not my video )
Orange vocoder used bandpassfilters for analyzing the input , morph used adaptive transform .( hence the higher quality )
An interesting read here by mastemind Stephan M. Bernsee himself ..

p.s. it's an old old interview ,about prosonique morph 1 ..released early 2000
