I'm not going to get all scientific on you, but you've got a lot to learn about human emotion and reaction through their senses. Something can look perfect, but it may not sound that way. I suggest you take step away from your aide and crutch, and you will find out how useless you would be on an analog console.
Really, who do you think you are trying to patronize others who you don't know?
Are you?

I have a long record of compositions and productions for TV, radio, promotions etc. My works got international awards for broadcast and classic productions. I had analog consoles, ditched them for digital ones. I was one of the first in Europe who had DMC1000 desks in his studio (at the the same time as Trevor Horn). Some of the recent commercial productions I did were composing and producing for premium camera maker Leica (with Marilyn Manson appearing) and mixing for Sennheisers global spots introducing an Ambeo device. For all this I used analysers in several stages of production as usual. I understand to use my eyes, brain, ears, emotions and all that. That brought me to the conclusion analysers are very valuable tools, like dynamic meters, phase correlators, bit meters etc.
I think we're all interested and talking about real music, songs. Not short clips and collages.

Thanks, coach :D

Actually I have a solid 9-5 dayjob with 15 years experience that pays the bills and have never dreamed of making of living off music - infact I don't think I would want to even if the opportunity arose - too risky for my family, I prefer the regular paychecks. The money it (music) generates is on the side and fed straight back into it. Music is an expression and outlet for me - not a financial goal. Oh and I purposely set out to not make uber-commercial music. None of this any of us needs to prove to you.

Try humbling yourself a little more and you might find interactions with other people will be less confrontational. Unless you have the accolades to back up that Kanye-sized ego.
If this is just a hobby to you, then all bets are off.

You seem to present more and more problems, now you can't even realise when a fight is over. And I can asure you, my longest compositions were over 50 minutes, I scored to serveral films and wrote many songs. It is ok if you don't like analysers - really. Why not calm down a bit?

I find this update a very welcome addition to an already very useful plugin. But, what do I know as this is just a hobby for me.

You gotta love guys like this "gas chump" who put down other people for using a tool as it should be because their golden ears are far superior to the rest of us. Then he knocks Dreamvoid saying he doesn't make "real music" and yet he does not mention any of his own accomplishments.

i just ignore such people, who are acting so over-the-top professional and maybe have some glimpse of truth but in the end who cares? mostly people butthurt that new equipment makes some stuff easier. i dont care, just using what i love and makes stuff easier and also are still there to understand what you do.

Upping yourself by bringing down others is a classic weakness. There's too much elitism in music prod/mixing/mastering already without having to add yet another unwritten law like "don't use spectrum analyzers", just like "never EQ more than 2db" "always cut, never boost" etc etc. There are no rules and no technique or method is inherently "pro" or "amateur".

+1

and being a "pro" means nothing these days either. what matter is the track record of the person and if their work sounds good or not. it doesn't matter how they got there, whether pro or not. Here's why: the cost barrier to audio and music has been broken. All you need is a cheap computer and a bunch of free audio software. Then you can find some band to give you $50 to mix their album. You are not officially a pro. Compared to say someone who has been producing music for decades as an amateur, been through the whole analogue decades and now pays for the high end audio software and honed their craft over those decades - but has never worked for money. Who do you think is going to be able to create the better sounding music? Saying your a pro means nothing. Saying you are an amateur with 40 years experience means nothing. Lets hear your music.

I recommend TDR NOVA. And a tip (that I know many people already use): when bypassing a plugin to compare the sound, clic on the bypass buttons many times and really fast while you have your eyes closed, so you don't know if it's bypassed or not.

This way you're forced to choose what it sounds good to you without your eyes tricking you (you need to match the gain before doing this).

I do this almost too often

I gain match too though so you don't get fooled by the "volume increase = better" trap. And that leads us back on topic: Human ears can be tricked.

Yeah, it's all not falling in any of the three illusions: loudness, the GUI and the bypass. I also tend to do it at least three times.

It's okay to feel bitter that you aren't apart of the 1%, but don't blame me for pointing it out.

Someone: "I think I'm gonna join a tennis club - I really enjoy playing tennis"

You: "Yeah but you'll NEVER be Top 10 in the world you amateur!"

Someone: "uhhh... what does that have to do with me enjoying playing tennis for fun? Grow up already."

Now back on topic. :hihi:

Looks handy. I have a pretty hefty pile of dynamic EQs already so I'll hold off and see if they ever chuck it into my bundle in an update. That being said waves has gotten almost schizophrenic with their pricing and sales over the past couple of years so this might be picked up for about as cheap as anything else out there, and I have nothing but love for waves when it comes to easy to use, low CPU use, and clean sounding processors. If someone is in the market for dynamic EQ and doesn't have one this could be a good buy when it inevitably goes on sale for 30 bucks at some point.

Nova GE can boost also.

F6 can nothing - coz F6 unavailable for free..

I see what you did there :hihi:
