Overview
Seventy7 is a virtual simulation of an old drum machine from the 1970s generally known as the Rhythm77 or TR-77. The TR-77 itself evolved from the Rhythm Ace and its original purpose was to provide rhythm to home or professional organists.

The sounds in Seventy7 are 24 Bit resolution samples with up to 8 round-robin variations depending on the sound. Great care was taken in recording and editing the sounds to get the best quality possible.

All the original rhythms have been accurately reproduced and can be combined together like the real thing. Seventy7 makes it easy to include these rhythms in your own music with its built-in performance recorder. Record a few bars of a rhythm then either save it as a MIDI file or drag it straight onto a track in your sequencer or DAW ready for playback.

The FULL version of kontakt 5.7.3 or above is required. NOT Kontakt Player.

Available from Kontakt Hub for £10 GBP (+ VAT).

Thanks chaps, let me know what you think. It's good to be back.
Barry.

Thanks very much Barry. I've bought all your previous releases, and just purchased Seventy7. As always with your libraries, it's a lot of fun to play with.

Really pleased to see you back :)

Thanks fishfinger, much appreciated. In case you missed it I've also created Oxypops.

For anyone that's interested in the difference between these and the old ones from 5 years ago or so:
  • They're re-build from scratch, even the sounds were re-edited.
  • Taking advantage of Kontakt 5 features.
  • I left out anything superfluous or that KONTAKT handles natively (like CC assignments) making them easier to use.
  • Built in quick help menu to save digging out the PDF!
  • There's no more "DAW sync" issues as there is no more sync!
  • Exporting the rhythms as MIDI files. Having created the new demo tunes using this I can confirm that it is far better than the old syncing method.
They no longer work with Kontakt 4 however.

Any questions, feel free to ask.
Barry.

Wow! Forgotten Keys is back!

Will some of the other classic FK machines be back soon as well? My collection isn't complete ;-)

Off to Kontakt Hub...

I'm not going to say! Don't want to jinx it .

Hey Barry, it is really great to see you and Forgotten Keys back!
I must say I felt quite happy and excited when I read the first news of the release of Oxypops.
Both new instruments were instant buys for me. They are awesome - they sound and look (!) fantastic! The new MIDI export function works perfectly and is good fun to play with.

Q: Is there a possibility to trigger the start/stop button via MIDI?

I wish you nothing but the best for the future!

Post

Thanks e-musician, glad you like them.

You can right-click on the start button and assign a controller to it if you really want to, but if you start playing anywhere in the timeline other than the beginning of a bar, the rhythm will be out of sync.

I really think sticking to MIDI files is better. Nearly all of the questions and problems I used to get with the old instruments involved syncing with DAWs which is why I got rid of all that now that Kontakt exports MIDI. I'm interested to know why you still want that though, maybe I've overlooked something.
Thanks again.
Barry.

Maybe it is just an old habit, it is the way I have got used to playing/controlling rhythm machines within a DAW (i. e. by a MIDI note event).

[a little offtopic] It is, however, true that I have always been experiencing problems when it comes to sync Kontakt's sequencer with the host (as regards instruments that make use of the internal sequencer). Pressing the play button in Cubase, Kontakt always starts earlier than the rest of the plugins. But when triggered by a MIDI note (or, in this case, a MIDI file), everything works smoothly.
For example, I have not been able to start the host and, say, Wave Alchemy's Evolution simultaneously (even when "sync to host" in the instrument is on); so I have to trigger Evolution by the key that is assigned to the start function.

[ontopic again] Therefore I see that sticking to MIDI files might be better (and cleverer). And, as I have said, it works perfectly.

Hello

Just bought ( again ) your last two products and they are great as usual.
the thing is I really don't get the way to export the pattern file into a midi file.

It must be ovious but I don't get it

I know how to export a midifile in Native instrument , for exemple, with the "X" in the groove choice
but in Seventy 7 and in OXYpops I can't see where it is
Any help from someone ?

Hello Barry,

I just want to say your retro drum machine recreations are inspirational, useful because of their simplicity and authenticity, and they are cute and skeumorphic delights.

Please don't stop reincarnating the drum machines of the past!

thank you :)
The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.
