Firstly, I'd like to thank you Squids and others at eSoundz / Sonic Reality for my Sonic Synth 1 Bundle! (It's arrived from Florida to Hungary so fast, within 4 days. Big thanks to the postal services too.)
I hope everything is or gonna be all right with you because of that hurricane. I wish the bests!

And my serious request for the proper and succesful use of my bundle:

I had known before its purchase that SampleTank 2 LE does not run / gives sound on Win98SE aside from some noise, but I've purchased it with the sound libraries for some reason (e.g. upgrading from it, changing of my operation system and for 'downgrading' to SampleTank 1 LE). I hoped maybe ST 1 LE will be on the disc 1 of the Sonic Synth 1 as its original sound engine, and if it's not there that's a soluble problem.
I want the best solution to use my Sonic Reality SampleTank libraries, what solution is free also. Resonable and logical to me that I have the right to get and use ST 1 LE as a legal and registered owner, 'user' of ST 2 LE, and because of Sonic Synth 1 and the older Sonic Reality SampleTank format libraries, what for I've paid, are produced and optimized for ST 1. (I've heard some problem with Sonic Synth 1 + ST 2 for this reason.) So I'd like to get my legal copy of ST 1 LE engine as a downloadable one. 8)
Don't recommend to change my OS buying WinXP, or to buy/use a format converter! But if you, as an MS Win or IK SampleTank expert genius have the right solution to run ST 2 LE on Win98SE, that may interest me, (because ST 2 is far better, nicer than version 1).

First of all, esoundz doesn't make the software, it just sells it. But, I can tell you that I don't think IK is going to go backwards and make new software work with older operating systems like Windows 98. In fact, OS9 for Mac was just dropped by many manufacturers as well. It's 2000/XP or OSX these days! Sorry, I know that isn't what you want to hear.

However, SS1 bundle was one of the last products working in Windows 98 if you were able to choose ST1 LE which unfortunately we ran out of halfway through the group buy. Luckily I think we got some more now (but they cost us money so I don't know how we can give it to you for free, also we have a limited supply of some of the last ones left in the world) but, anyway, you'd have to work that out with sales@esoundz.com I am sure they will figure out a way to make you happy. As you probably know, it is better to work things out in the first place whenever possible.

Hi, thanx Squidz, but is it posibile to play the Sampletank 2 Sounds in Sampletank 1 xl?

Because i have it and i HATE winxp and my winme system works great, and i hate udates of op systems!!

I mean i pay the sampletank 2l cds and i copy only the sounds to my sampetank 1 dir??

I love the sounds of sampletank and i think its a genius produkt for all (prof)musiker. :) :)

Like me but SORRY for my english, its hard to learn with 68 years a new language!! :oops:

Hi Oliver,

The ST2 sounds are not really backwards compatible with ST1. I mean, some of them are because they came from ST1 but the new sounds, the child presets, the combis... so many things are different that it wouldn't work going backward.

The SS1 group buy deal IS in ST1 format so that would work.

Sorry. If you think about it, managing VST, DXi, RTAS, AU is enough to do already on both Mac and PC. To stay working with the current platforms and also continue to spend time developing new products is necessary. I guess Windows 2000 or XP will have to be it.

I made the switch to w2k (just to be able to run xphrase)
and was sad about leaving win98, but good heavens w2k has been such a delight. talk about stable :love:
