OK - im just reading this in passing - and the manual at behringer isnt all that helpful

so questions

1) does cubase sx do this feedback thing ? - so that the controller can update itself as parameters change - ie the leds on the bcr

2) how many presets can it have ? - and can i freely change between them

3) why is it so cheap ?

4) it can work with vsts that dont send midi - right ?

eh thats about it so far - but who knows maybe more to come !

Hi there,

I am not a Cubase user so I can't answer some of your questions but the other ones I can answer,

(2) You can store 32 presets and you can switch between them by pressing the preset up/down buttons, or to scroll quickly from preset 1 to preset 32, hold one of the preset up or down buttons and use the rotary encoder to scroll through the presets.

Note that you can't use your saved presets in any of the emulation modes (i.e. Logic Control/Mackie Control/HUI etc)... You can only use it in the BC (Behringer Control) mode...

(3) Its cheap because its Behringer!!! I am not sure of this either... At the moment I am just seeing how long the motorised faders will last... It feels like a solid unit though and it certainly doesn't look cheap... But once you start playing with it you notice a few things (the buttons are very clicky and the motors on BCF are just a tad noisy for my liking)... But then, once you have gotten used to it its hard to imagine how you used to do everything via a mouse last time!!!

(4) This I am not sure... All I know is that with Logic, it integrates really well in the Logic Control emulation mode and I can control/automate everything, including Logic's VSTi as well as other VSTi (FXPansion BFD, GPO etc)... Exception is Stylus and Atmosphere, which responds only to midi cc messages...

For those who want to get a perspective of how big the BCF is, here is a pic of my workspace...

Hope that helps...

Just saw the review in CM. 8) Me want one.
Says it integrates great with Cubase SX. How about Cubase SE?
Here is a comparison chart.

BCR2000 is not mentioned in the supported controllers but I suspect this document is older than the Behringer anyway.

Is anyone else having trouble using the mackie Control emulation for the Behringer BCF? Whenever I try using it with Cubase SL and the BCF view I cant seem to control any of the faders or dials. If I try moving a fader it moves back after 2 seconds, the dials simple wont move atall. The Mackie emulation is definitely loaded as sometimes it seems to work without the BFC view. Any ideas?

Make sure to select the correct midi in and outs in Cubase. I had this problem before. Select both the midi in and out to BCF2000 [01] This should fix the problem.

Let add that you need to add Mackie Control in the device setup of Cubase and select the according midi in and outs.

I had it all set up for the mackie control in Cubase incl MIDI I/O ,but still no luck. Have you gotten it to work successfully? Is it possible to control instruments and effects aswell?

HOLY THE F*%^ BATMAN!!!
That shit is unbelieveable.
I finally got the mackie control emulation to work and it really is amazing, to think so much automated control for only 240 bucks, Thank you Behringer -

THE MOUSE IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE BCF.

My guess would be that it is made (or assembled) in China.... :)

didnt know theyve added logic control emulation. thats it, i'm getting one. how does the vsti control work.. i mean there are only 16 controls, how are they mapped?

The easy'iest way to explain how it works is by downloading the BCF2000 version 1.06(875 KB) at:
http://www.behringer.com/05_support/bc_ ... m?lang=ENG

Then open the PDF and check out the emulation templates, its a sweet system and works really well with the BCF view.

hehehe, i see you got the mackie mode working :)

I fully agree, the implementation in incredible. i've also modified the mackie control mode in cubase to support the F1-F8 user functions with all kind of things I like. So i added cycle functionality. Up and Down functionality on the project window. Adding extra miditracks. All with just pressing knobs :o

I really love the behringer bcf2000 in combination with cubase.

Its such a big difference compared to the standard BCF Cubase template, so much more control. Particularily over the effects and instruments. I am however abit concerned by the sounds emulating from the BCF itself. When the faders move slowly inline with the onscreen automation the noise they make is alittle unsettling. Only time will tell how long they will last. Anyone else hearing such?
