Dune 2 (as well as Serum) patch browsing works fantastic with Reason as well, since they both use the FXP patch format outside of their own proprietary browser. I prefer browsing Dune 2 and Serum presets via Reason’s browser instead. Makes them feel like “native rack devices”. And yeah, if you have Dune 2 - don’t even bother with Antidote. Or Expanse.
As I imagined! Great possibilities connecting Reason devices to Dune 2 (or any other VSTi) inside Combinator. I even don't need to deal with tiring Arp in Dune 2 or even the Modulation matrix! It is absolutely more fun connecting this way. I also got immediate nice results :)

Primary examples, that i might extend later:

Dune2 in Reason 10 - B.jpg
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Bitwig 5, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

It's OK - I prefer this in Bitwig which has the intelligence to know which patches Dune 2 uses and automatically locates them, in Reason I have to browse to the folder. Reason has the annoying habit of whatever plugin you load it just takes you straight to the default system preset folder, which is not where many of them are, and sometimes you don't want that anyway (eg when the plugin uses its own browser)

This has nothing to do with Reason 10 or Synapse Collection. If you get either the RE or VST version of The Legend, just mail Synapse and they'll give you the other version free of charge.

There's nothing in the picture that requires you to put it in the Combinator. I HATE Combinator :D

I use Reason's favorites and device lists to get around that (also, the browser remembers your last position). I actually hate having to go through my various VST's proprietary browsers, as they all differ and they all have their own way of managing their preset libraries. It's a rack worflow thing. Bitwig's approach is cool, though.

WAT?!! Building complex device routings and saving them as a Combi is one of the core features of Reason! I do wish they'd update the Combinator, though. It's largely remained unchanged in the 13 years since it was introduced.

There is a macro assigned to osc1fm parameter if you look at pic 1.

Your feeling or lack of knowledge about the usage of the Combinator doesn't concern me ;)

Yes I would prefer they all appeared in the browser - and also use bookmarks but Bitwig's approach is smarter and should be possible for Reason to do - presumably identifying info is there in the preset as to what plugin it corresponds to

Wow thanks for the heads up! I've had Reason Adapted installed for years but never really used it due to it's limitations. I just picked up v.10 for $99.

TBH, i always hoped it had more macro knobs (that's a key thing for me in Combinator). It has been a while since i last used Reason though, last version i owned was version 7, so, i don't know how Combinator is now.

Hey - congrats! That's an incredible deal, IMHO.

It's the same. No changes to the Combinator since 4.0, I'm afraid. :(

Is this $99 "deal" a sign of business problems for the props?

I think it's great that lots of people can use Reason now, but I've not seen these kind of discounts from a DAW dev before.

It just seems really desperate IMO.

Magix did that also. I think the DAW (and probably the instruments) is going down in price to meet the demands.

I remember very well when e-magic Logic did cost about 700 euro (the platinum) in the late 90's.

Anyway, I still believe that Apple pricing and policy (can't resell) is the best one. I think the $200 mark is the ideal price for the full versions of DAWs (that has to offer the same quality and quantity as Logic) without reselling but with long period of updates like with Logic and Reaper for example.

I think Propellerheads hunts for new costumer and it works. The fanbase is still there. The development is running and the results are very welcome. I'll love to see Reason11 and 12 with GUI-Improvements. I'm sure they will come. Look how long it has been taken that Cubase fresh up there GUI completely and the Cubase GUI is simple in comparison to Reason.

IMHO The Reason base will grow up.

Yes I agree, but I really hope they think of $200 as the standard price after this discount. Also the upgrade price should be better for the previous versions, I mean not all the same price, but it increases towards the oldest version (like Cubase) or no upgrade price, just buying it new (like Logic).

I disabled the VST support :-o I think that Reason 10 with its own devices (+ The Legend) can cover everything I need, especially I'm wanting less with time as my taste (early 80's synth pop) mainly doesn't require that much of tools :D

If only I haven't lost my Reason Adapted serial. I never bothered to install it. :dog:
