A new piano roll for Reason? Or just a whole new GUI already?

Yes, Reason needs a GUI rework when you work on 4K screens and more. But horrible is to strength in my opinion. I'm switched over from my try with other DAWs(Bitwig, Ableton, Cubase, Reaper, Renoise) to Reason10 and I love it.

It really depends on what you mean exactly by this.

Well I like Reason's fundamental design, which I don't think they would consider changing. That could affect compatibility, and that is something they are proud of IMO. I think the user interface experience was likely established at version #1.

Having said that, it's about time the GUI gets a refresh, with re-drawn devices compatible with 4K and high-DPI screens, more freedom in arranging the windows on single screen (eg. side be side, instead of on top of each other), ability to resize / zoom the areas independently, in-rack graphical integration of VSTs, etc.

Sure...this is pretty much the kind of stuff I meant. Optimized for higher rez screens. New, fresh, modernized graphics. Certainly things should be larger, like all the controls on the devices. That whole sequencer area just needs an overhaul. Extensive colour customization would be great!

Again, I wasn't talking about the fundamental design. That is why it is unique, and I luv the whole Rack Extension thing, and all the stuff that is available to extend the app.

Ok, so we're on the same page it seems With the exception of how sequencer looks - I personally think this is the most beautiful & clean sequencer around! What it needs IMO is functional tweaks, like ability to group and hide tracks, multi-clip editing, in-track automation of devices belonging to the track's instrument, revamped Blocks mode, improved playhead management, etc.

Agreed! It is a nice crisp and clean sequencer, for sure, I will concur...

Tweaks! I want tweaks!!! I want colour control, and hi resolution support, and basically alot of good, wholesome stuff, bringing this application, called Reason, into the next century, here...
