Anyone have any tips on how to make a gong? One hit medium velocity.
This one is sort of gongy in the lower registers. FM and noise.

Eh, I tried a gong. Needs refinement.

And I don't know the trick to posting to get the dropbox to play other than opening link in a new tab. :(

In anyone's in need: Here's a pretty awesome timpani patch (if I may say so myself!)

Limited dynamic level - but you can get a crescendo from mezzo-piano to mezzo-forte.

[Edit: It's an octave too low on the keyboard, so the main register is between C1 and C2]

Is there a way to -

1. Jump to modulator(s) When you have even just a few modulators on the board, it starts getting tricky remembering where you put things.

2. Disable a modulator? Debugging more than one modulator on the same item is hairy.

Feature REQ: The slate appends the name of the modulator. So instead of seeing 4 Volume modulators, we see, Volume - Sub, Volume - High End etc.

I agree, it does get tricky. Even just right clicking on the modulated parameter to highlight the modulator would help.

Another thing that messes with me is that deleted modulators remain in the existing list, so just a few modulators could be Env 1, Env 5, Env 12. Gets confusing when you want to modulate something with an existing mod and you have Env 1-15 on standby. I did find that you can rename the mod, so that helps.

I do plan on making it so moving a dial that is modulated highlights the connected mod slat.

Also, that is a brilliant idea to make the mod slats so they can be renamed to keep things organized, I will do that.

To temporarily disable a modulation go to the mod slat change it to add and set the amount zero.

To delete modulators in the modulation list, go to a mod slat, click on the icon to expand it, click on the modulator name to bring up the modulator list, click on a modulator and hit delete, then it delete again when the warning messages comes up, and the modulator will be gone.

When you are done creating a preset it is best to delete unused modulators since they take up memory in your host and also add to the file size if other people download your presets.

Say I have to debug 3 modulators on the same item. I have to remember each slat value, and carefully drag my mouse to enable/disable each one. Maybe double clicking slat to disable/enable? It would be sooooo helpful.

Could you color unused ones? I've learned to name my modulators right away now but if I have 10 modulations I have to go through all of them to see if are using ADSR 1-8. Would get tedious very fast.

Thanks for checking in.

My entry "I can not fathom"

Made with FLstudio.

5 Instances of Fathom

One grossbeat on main

Some limiters and effectors as reverbs.

Two eq 2s and compressor on the gong by frostline studios. .

Else uses peter h drumkit and air pressure preset..

I had to bounce all tracks to wav files, else it would not render right..

The FLP project file will be at: (52 I can not fathom.zip) (gonna take a while to upload it is 105k)

I ended up using all three gongs. I also used the timpani. Thanks guys.

@Frostline That pitch envelope in the gong was really cool. You can also do that pretty quick with the beizer. Anyway very cool and added alot to the patch. It also spawned alot of ideas for the future.

@Peter H That Chinese crash was awesome. I didnt know you could do that. If you set an envelope to scan at the right speed you actually get a cymbal. The drum kit was cool too.
