Just pushed v2.0 alpha 2:
- Smoother, less noisy pitch drift
- UI cleanup
Also, I started a manual, let me know if it reads well! I want it to be informative and accessible for beginners; I'm trying to avoid being too formal or verbose.

I haven't tried the synth yet, but was reading through the thread and from looking at the changes in the modulation section in the GUI, didn't it become less flexible because it looks like the lfo can not module the filter, FM, etc. anymore?

The LFO can modulate cutoff and FM. I just did a bit of renaming and reorganization - LFO is called vibrato, and the amount knob links it to the oscillator pitches. But you can also link the LFO to cutoff and FM in the targets section. The only thing that you can't do anymore is link the envelopes to pitch.

Ahh yes I see now. Sorry, I thought after a quick glance that the modulation section knobs where only for destination for the Mod envelope and that the LFO had become hardwired to the OSC pitch.

Just released alpha 4 - changes:
- Apply the same pitch drift to every voice
- Proper per-plugin pitch drift seeding
- Increased overall amount of pitch drift (I think)
- Avoid clicking when enabling/disabling the filter
- Remove "res 2" knob
You might be wondering, why did I remove the res 2 knob? Well as it turns out, it was really just changing both the cutoff and the resonance, but not in a way that couldn't be done with the cutoff and res 1 knobs. It wasn't adding anything valuable.
Now that I've removed it, however, the knobs in the lower left are looking really lonely over there. So let me know what I should add to fill the gap!

A little internal patch manager, with save and folder creation function all self-contained, would make this the best little free synth of the past year - and it could fit perfectly in that empty spot! Now that I've removed it, however, the knobs in the lower left are looking really lonely over there. Chorus or delay maybe?

Yes you are right. Scratch that.tesselode wrote:What exactly is the draw of having built in effects? Wouldn't people almost always rather use separate plugins for effects?Halonmusic wrote:Chorus or delay maybe?

It wasn't a bad idea tbh, there are certain synths with built-in effects like ACE and Zebra that really shine.Halonmusic wrote:Yes you are right. I do think I'd be much more interested in a preset manager instead, but a nice little delay on Tesselode's synth could add a bit of fun. However, judging by Tesselode's response...it ain't happening.
