Actually, that's a lie, my reasons are selfish: why remind myself of all of the music I dislike without even getting paid for the effort?

But without going to any effort, I can definitely say that I am not listening to Linkin Park.

If only I could not listen more often! Forced involuntary music consumption (In my case, from the radio at my part time job) is just wrong.

There is this wretched oldies station that seems to have playlist consisting solely of the 12 worst pop songs from the eighties. And of course, it's the only one with reception there. I don't want Pat Benatar songs in my head, and yet there they reside.

Thankfully I have 300 watts per channel available in my basement studio, which are currently playing At the Drive In, which makes for effective sonic brain bleach.

I don't know how I ever lived without my soundproofed basement.
