Ouch, the way the harmonics bounce back makes me wince! I understand they wanted low CPU but surely a good compromise is some kind of offline render-only oversampling. You simply cannot claim to be anything close to analog when you have aliasing that bad.

Post

the other Overloud GEM series EQ's don't use oversampling, so it's baffling why they don't implement the same techniques in this new plug.

Download, installed and authorised within three minutes on Tuesday. I’m in the U.K.

the indented magnet snapping values 'feature' makes it unusable to me though unfortunately.
I've now tried the plugin and understand your issue with 2-finger scroll. However, there is no issue with 3-finger drag :tu: Try that! If for no other reason that it is an awesome feature: Much smoother for using on knobs and sliders, and actually allows you to move gui elements around :tu:

Depending on the OS you are using, you'll either find it under settings > trackpad, or, more recently, settings > accessibility > mouse & trackpad > trackpad options > enable dragging > three-fingered drag.

I also have hand issues (had both wrists operated on for carpal tunnel), and this is really helpful for me. Although, my biggest help comes from using a Wacom tablet - They should be standard issue for anyone using a computer
that's f**king awesome, don't know why i never tried that, thanks heaps!
maybe i can start programming Softube Modular!!?? And BAZILLE!!!!!!?
I wonder if it works for the patch cables...
oh my flippin goo giddly gideon.
It's Christmas again.
I don't see why it wouldn't work with cables, as it basically works like a deep-click-and-drag movement. I use it to move folders, internet pages, clips within daw, knobs, sliders...Anything, really

Did others who are seeing this message also gain access via vpn?
I tried with my normal home connection (from India) and got the software as well as serial delivered within few minutes. Got registered it with the same internet connection.

Can you check, if your host file (or system's firewall) is blocking http://www.overloud.com ? If it did, then remove that line from the host file (save it) and try registering with internet connection.

Edit: It seems you have sorted it out on your own, already! :)

Cheers! :tu:
Thanks for the suggestion. However, i have nothing listed under firewall, yet I'm still blocked without the firewall  Makes me feel like I am going to have even more trouble getting it to register :scared:

I'm in the UK. I can access overloud.com OK, but I had the 'not connected to internet' thing on the first day - when I tried to authorise. I thought that was because their servers were being hammered. It worked OK on Tuesday.
I would think you should be able authorise OK now. As long as you have the serial number registered to your account - you should get it to work eventually ;)

Thanks! But it's still giving me the same message, despite sending me to their page if I click 'Buy'. So much for having no connection

I'll wait till they finish the sale. Then, if no solution has been found, I'll contact support.

I'm still getting the offline thing, too.

If you're on Windows, check your hosts file to see if overloud's address isn't blocked in there for some reason...Just saying.

That's exactly what I had. Maybe keep trying? At different times of the day?

If that was the case, the "Buy" button wouldn't work...

Can't authorize. God, I hate these copy protector *censored* systems. I understand why they are used, but if they must be used, they should be invisible to legal users. My other PC has Overloud TH2; after this experience, I'm not upgrading.

Post

Just as a counterweight ;-) I had a quick and painless download and authorisation early in the week, on Mac OS 10.9.6.

Feel your pain, though…

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Update: If it doesn't work inside your DAW, you can install the standalone application and authorize there, it worked for me at least.

+1
It's not about self-entitlement or ingratitude. Just because something is given free, doesn't mean it is beyond critique. Given that the developer intends to sell this plugin for $130 (That's right, it's not a free plugin). in a few days, perhaps they'd be open to considering some of the feedback they've received.

If you've paid attention 'round these parts, you'll have noticed that time and time again developers end up changing ui's, gui's, and many other things on the strength of feedback on KVR, and the changes normally work out much better as a result: Surely there is no better market research than that done directly on your prospective market?

So far, I've read comments about weird knob behaviour (Aside from the KVR members :tu:), bad aliasing, and gui comments that range from poking a bit of fun to real offence taken. I can barely be bothered trying to get it for free, and certainly wouldn't pay for it. if others feel similarly then that's perhaps something the developer would consider worth considering (perhaps, not)
I’ve noticed free plugins seem to get more criticism including the ones from Soundtoys and Eventide. Because more people download and try them then comment on the forums. You see less criticism for paid for plugins even the ones the alias slightly.
