I want to know why Image Line talks about the morals of downloading illegal versions of FLStudio yet [redacted] . What's that about...? You would never see something like that from other major daw developers, like Presonus for example.

I really think you should ask that question on looptalk. I know the nature of your post does not violate KvR rules directly, it did indeed suggest a locale for downloading illegal software, I prefer to err on the side of caution in cases like this. Scott if you decide to answer this may I ask you do it through pm, thanx

Honestly, for me FL is looking pretty good at the moment.
i think the ONLY area that i have an issue with, is working with audio. and unfortunately this really is a big oversight, in my opinion.
in fact i think FL gets audio work so wrong, that anytime i need to do anything with audio, i just open the wav in sonar 8.5 and get everything done with no hassle. and this kinda freaks me out because sonar 8.5 is about 10 years old, and it seems light years ahead of FL for working with audio.
for instance, in sonar, i can chop a clip, turn on transient detection, and shift the individual slices around, timestretching small portions of the wav, and then just hit F4 to bounce the edited version to a new wav (stored in project, so no save-as needed).
i can also add vstfx into an individual sample (stored in the clip), and automate those fx (clip-based envelopes that overlay the wav), and again, just hit F4, to bounce the wav with all the fx to a new clip (all fx disappear). or maybe i will copy the wav with fx inserted, and leave the copy muted before i bounce, so i will have a backup version (bounce undo).
all this from a program that's 10 years old, and im STILL waiting for FL to show signs of this sort of elegance, when it comes to audio editing.
so although i don't want to bash FL (it's still my main DAW), i really think they should take working with audio a little more seriously, considering FL's popularity comes mainly from the edm / hiphop crowd.
that's all i really have to say, so don't bother trying to start an argument with me please

Because it probably has the highest rate of warez users when it comes to DAWsTHE INTRANCER wrote:I want to know why Image Line talks about the morals of downloading illegal versions of FLStudio yet [redacted] . Those who actually saw what I was referring to (before Hink edited it) will know that what I was asking, is not what as it appears now... but if you put both my post and Hink's reply to my post together, then those who didn't see what I initially posted should actually work it out...if their IQ is high enough...VariKusBrainZ wrote:Because it probably has the highest rate of warez users when it comes to DAWsTHE INTRANCER wrote:I want to know why Image Line talks about the morals of downloading illegal versions of FLStudio yet [redacted] . I know for certain Live has unlimited swing types with the Groove feature and a few other DAWs also. The defunct Temper uses a modular modulation system to manipulate everything, including Swing.Rameses wrote:The syncopation ("swing") in acid wasn't limited to only one syncopation type, it has over 20 different presets and you also can create your own ones which really is unique amongst digital audio workstations, if I recall correctly.
If youre going to talk 'Toy' them Acid certain qualifies as one, compared to Fruity, which has had more creative features than any of the other DAWs. Theyre only just catching up.
Its had a Granular and Image to Audio synth since over a decade,
Modulation devices are only in vogue the last couple of years with Bitwig, Waveform and Ableton now it absorbed Max4Live
Cant be bothered to school a pleb any further, apologies.

You need 1 click to create a new pattern in FL Studio either and can play MIDI into any instrument of the project, even multiple I think.Rameses wrote:You need literally one click to create a midi track, the next thing you'll need to do is hit "record".
FL Studio has main swing and a per-channel/instrument swing multiplier to create an individual swing for everything you want. Additionally it comes with a lot of swing/quantization templates (of course you can create own ones) which can be applied with just a keypress.Rameses wrote:The syncopation ("swing") in acid wasn't limited to only one syncopation type, it has over 20 different presets and you also can create your own ones which really is unique amongst digital audio workstations, if I recall correctly.
I too think editing audio needs a rework. I dislike open Edison for it. For small things it's okay but you cannot do any bigger tasks for example edit 10 vocal-tracks from a 5 minutes song. This is pita.
I just saw I can choose the Fruity Layer but I remember it unfortunately was missing in a previous version. Is it back again or did I merge some versions by mistake? If it was my mistake, then please bring back FL Layer

Well mine is not, what is the problem exactly?THE INTRANCER wrote: Those who actually saw what I was referring to (before Hink edited it) will know that what I was ... then those who didn't see what I initially posted should actually work it out...if their IQ is high enough...

It's difficult to tell. Only FL Studio? has telltale signs that it's cracked or using a keygen license.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Because it probably has the highest rate of warez users when it comes to DAWs
But to paraphrase Mark Twain:
"There is only one thing worse than being pirated, that's not being pirated".
And by that I mean, it's a sign of how popular FL Studio is, not that we like piracy.
We take down about 600 how to crack FL Studio YouTube videos a month. 1000's of links to downloads.

Yall are really arguing about software... 1s & 0s... no wonder music sucks.
Lol all the talent wants to be petty
Btw..I have FL... dont use it much (the switch from 11 to 12 still rattles my head because its almost nite & day), but these updates are good. I have to say of the DAWs I used... Ive gotten my best results from using FL. Just puts me on a different mode I guess. Ill wait till its out of beta * get a little more familiar with it.
Im waiting on ImageLine to fix that Sytrus browser in the VST form and make all of the changes to the Directwave VST that are in the host version

Which doesn't translate into a high percentage of popular music being released with Fruityloops, on the contrary.Image-Line wrote:It's difficult to tell. Only FL Studio? has telltale signs that it's cracked or using a keygen license.

a large percentage of today's popular music is either made entirely or partially with FL Studio
