Thanks for the extra info.
I'm still a little confused by the actual problem though, there appears to be two things going on here:
1) You can scan and add the plugin to a track but when opening the interface, the window contents are blank
2) Waveform crashes when checking for new plugins?
For 1), it could be that the thumbnailer is causing the interface to disappear, as indicated by the Freestyle behaviour (although I have no idea why as all this does is get the window handle and copy the pixel data from it and this works in every other plugin that I know of). Or it could be something else. This is why I asked if you see a flash of UI before the thumbnailer kicks in, 2 seconds after launching the UI window.
For 2) I really don't know why the "automatically check for new or updated plugins" could cause a problem, all this does is quickly scan the plugin files in the know location to see if any have been added since the last time it checked. It doesn't attempt to load the plugin at all.
It seems I'll have to download it if there's a trial and see if there's anything obvious I can spot. If not, we may have to just say that "the plugin is not supported"...

Hi,
wish I could add a screen to show what exactly happens, but as soon as it happens nothing goes anymore....
You are right, both things happened.
I must say what makes it a little more confusing is that there where to different "states" of movement where the problems happened:
- first it was unregistered, I tried to open it in wf 9 to register the plug and it freezes (I dont remember how the state of the movement window was)
- then kind of desperately and knowing that (at least for me) T 7 was more compatible with lots of plugins I just opened it in T 7 with no problem and registered it
- then I tried to open it in wf 9 (I am not sure but I think it did not see it as new plugin but seems to take the info it is there from T7) then the problem with the empty window happened which only shows the window border with black inside
- then I have my tries with freestyle to get it open and that worked with the thumbnail free version as described
- this way I could generally open movement in freestyle in waveform
- but: evrytime I open waveform now it tries again to scan the plugs, movement is new for wf 9, it opens the comlete movement window with content viewable and thats it, PC freezes...
Hope that helps, I know its confusing....

Ok, I tried to take a look at this but there doesn't appear to be a trial or demo available of it?
I've sent a ticket to support to see if I can get hold of a copy.

No, I dont think there is a demo, but I really hope you will get a copy as develloper. Normally they should have interest that it works in most daw and not only a few chosen ones. Thanks for investigating, would be really great if it could be used in Waveform

This maybe the same reply you already got but it looks like Tracktion will at least get a copy to test.
Hi Steve,
Thanks for reaching out, I'm so sorry about the trouble. We've recently been in contact with the Waveform team about this as well and have provided them a copy of MOVEMENT for their own testing. We'll take a look into it as well, however, since Waveform is not one of our supported DAW's for MOVEMENT I can't guarantee that a fix will be released as we are a small team with very limited human resources. If you have another DAW that is supported then we highly recommend using MOVEMENT in that program instead and perhaps transferring the audio back into Waveform if that is your main DAW. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience! Please let me know if I can help with anything else and I hope you have a great day.
Best,
Roxanne

Hi Steve,
thanks for the info, hope that might help to solve the problem. And no, I had a not so friendly answer, just the succinct "this daw is not reported". But might be cause that overlapped with some license problems (resale.....), so glad you got a more positive and helpful answer. And as Freestyle were able to locate at least one major problem (with thumbnail creation) I really hope Tracktion will find somehting to solve the problem too.

Ok, I got a copy and it seems to scan and launch fine:
So maybe the crash/window problem you're seeing is due to an old version or maybe Windows graphics drivers etc? I've seen similar reports on here with a couple of NI plugins?
The only problem I can see is that it doesn't make any sound. However, that could we be because I didn't install the sample content correctly or other user error.
