I already conceded that the celebrity sound alike is probably a bad idea. But having a vocal plugin that sounds like a real human singer is no different from buying Chris Hein's Solo Violin which is virtually indistinguishable from a real violin. The hypocrites here are okay with the latter but cry moral indignation with the former.jancivil wrote:In fact, we saw:elxsound wrote:In all fairness, he is not asking it to do the work for him but instead is wishing for a plugin that could be worked with to get good vocal results without using real life singers. Now it's been 'splained to the idiots who don't agree with the desirability of this monstrosity as merely requiring it for "good vocal results".You sing into a mic. The audio then goes through the VST and converts YOUR voice into any singer's voice you want it to sound like and perfectly on key. So, you could sound like Sinatra, Bon Jovi, Meatloaf, Cher, anybody you can think of.
fortunately for whatever remains of civilization, this isn't going to happen. And if one doesn't even begin to see the problem, the ramifications, it's not for me to explain that.
You have no idea the level of that kind of hypocrisy.

Everybody who is fine with virtual orchestras but cry moral outrage against a plugin that sounds like a human singer.thecontrolcentre wrote:Who are you calling a hypocrite? Please be specific.wagtunes wrote:
Dear Jim, I'm a musician who can't play violin, viola, cello, bass, French horn, tuba, flute, saxophone, trumpet or harp. Please could you fix it for me to have a plugin that'll allow me to sound like a whole orchestra?
Like I said, hypocrites.
That's who.

People who claim using a vocal plugin is wrong but yet see nothing wrong with using an orchestral library.thecontrolcentre wrote:Who are you calling a hypocrite? Please be specific.wagtunes wrote:

If you fit this description, I am calling you a hypocrite.
"Has no problem using orchestral libraries that are virtually indistinguishable from the real thing but cry moral outrage at a vocal plugin that emulates the human voice to the same degree of accuracy."
