My brain agrees. Even being the Apple zealot I am, I much prefer my Surface Pro 4 to my wife's iPad. Windows 10 drives me a little crazy from time to time, but the same can be said about any OS.chk071 wrote:It can't be your brain. Yes, but I need the iPad for Logic Remote!
No 12.9” iPad. At least, not until I am an invalid. I've been stuck in bed for 2 months, flu and post-op recovery. Now that I can move around again, somewhat, I don't think that looking for ways to stay in bed is a particularly smart plan.
Did I mention we already have two 9.7” units?
And I don't consider myself an Apple Fanboi.

There is always a real amp you play through...; - )Bombadil wrote:Tired of only playing through amp sims.
Old radios with these oval speakers are much underrated...
I'll build my next amp myself as semi-sphere with 6 speakers...

The Vox AC15 head has been ordered. I decided I wanted a dsp-free amp. It will be my first experience with a Vox amp. Thing weighs 33lbs. Hope I don't have to send it back!

I knew someone a long time ago, who lifted a school tape player with a built in speaker. You could put it on record in stand-by mode, and an acoustic with a pickup would just howl, beautifully, through it. Did Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner on it with a bunch of friends sitting around tripping. Everyone was kinda 'WHOA DUDE!'Tj Shredder wrote:There is always a real amp you play through...; - )Bombadil wrote:Tired of only playing through amp sims.

I really want a "stage" acoustic GTR
My electrics are stage-ready (not irreplaceable) but my sole acoustic is not - rare Gurian that's been my faithful companion far longer than any dog I've had (40 years)
maybe something like this : https://www.elderly.com/acoustics/acous ... pickup.htm
wish me luck

You can do better than one of the formica Martins, imo. I'd look at something in the Takamine 'G' series. Takamines are known for good durability as stage guitars.

... and then I notice the title of this thread says "non guitar" - ooops
but can't think of any other hardware I might need with all bases covered for my modest one-man band thing :
interface - Tascam uh7000
mics - Shure beta 57a, beta 58a, KSM 27, MXL 991 pencil mic
controllers - Novation SL61, LaunchPad Pro, Line 6 KB37 for live interface/controller/keys
piano - Korg k61p
mixer - Wharfedale r200 (line out to the interface from piano & GTR amp-sim stomp boxes)
monitors - Focal Alpha 50s
busking monitor - Roland Cube Street :=)
peace

Luck
Honestly I'd rather have a Formica body than natural wood especially in live situations. I've watched the videos those guitars sound great to my ears. Plus for it not being scratched up due to the surface material. Extra pluses for the neck/fretboard/body material
