just asking as a new mac/Logic user for multi track/instrument/control modulation the IAC driver (MIDI loopback) based solution is the only way ?

normally Im an FL Studio user and this thing is far easier with it ... so not sure it's a "Still the Logical Choice
" for me :D it's a cool DAW otherwise (- automation/modulation)

Logic has a Midi environment, you can do all kind of magic there usually only programmers are capable of...

^^^ I'v checked couple of solutions but all of them are IAC/external instrument based https://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/view ... p?t=121161 the difference is from the modulation signal is sent to it (from track or the environment)

Wining about someone else payed less than you?
You used it much longer, and have the option to work with the old version without paying on top. (I think LP 7 still works)
I usually simply forget what I payed in the past, and the only question remains if the asked price is worth it...
It also feels so much better, to grant a colleage a bargain, instead of comparing myself to someone else all the time...

What sucks much more, is that most vendors of DAWs including Apple, Ableton, Bitwig etc. try to bind you to their product exclusively by adding really good plug-ins which only work in that environment...
Apple could open their AUs for others but they don't. Fortunately there is also Mainstage, which you can bind into different work flows...
But hey, compare that situation to 20 years ago... You will always find a workflow to create great music...

I think of it differently. Logic costs the price initially most DAWs cost to upgrade, and upgrades are much farther apart than most DAWs. I went from 8 to X with no hit for not ever owning 9 etc.

The two DAWs IMO it’s patently insane to bitch about pricing on are Reaper and Logic. Owning Live Suite I can’t help but laugh, and anyone owning Cubase or ProTools should feel the same.
