Would an upgrade to a 7200 RPM internal from a 4200 RPM drive increase performance noticably on my Toshiba laptop's system drive (with the OS and audio apps) ?

I recently upgraded to 1 Gig of RAM, and noticed better performance, but in Cubase projects that use alot of VST plugins I still get dropouts.

I'm using an RME Hammerfall DSP Multiface card, but I find it gets overloaded when I use several plugins/tracks and I can't get reasonable latency at all.
