Were the rules changed that required all FX to be freeware changed for the month?
I try to keep up but may have missed where that was mentioned in the thread.
Thanks.

My interpretation was no restrictions on the synth itself but normal mix rules apply..
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

The rules were not relaxed, just that we are allowed to do what we want with Fathom, so we can load our own wavetables etc ...
But, still only daw specific and free 3rd party FX. i.e. No paid for or commercial plugins e.g. Waves etc., even though they our often on sale cheap!

Nice sounds @hivkorn ... can I suggest you change the FX from paid for, e.g. Waves, to free FX and also remember the rules say you should not use modulating FX outside the synth (ie ones which change the sound of the synth) - e.g. chorus/distortion fx etc - of course, you can use the modulating FX within Fathom as much as you like.
Would not like such nice sounds to be disqualified.
Cheers,

TheNeverScene suggested I incorporate some of my typical, crazy, heavily progressive style.. into my next OSC submission.
So...
All patches were created from init.. no wavetables were used (because, it feels like cheating). A lot of FM and AM tweaking though... A. Lot.
"R'lyeh is a sunken city located deep under the Pacific Ocean and is where the Great Old One, Cthulhu (actual inventor of FM synthesis.. probably) is interred. R'lyeh's bizarre architecture is characterized by its non-Euclidean geometry."

Studio One Pro (ver.3):
48 x Fathom instances (literally half of those, were for percussion alone...)
Too many to count (of most), of the following.. were also used:
-Beat Delay x ???
-Binaural Pan x ???
-Channel Strip x ???
-Gate x 1
-Limiter x ???
-LoudMax x ??? (more than one, but less than a billion...)
-Mix Verb x ???
-Pro EQ x 1
-Room Reverb x ???

Hi, the rules can be found here ...hivkorn wrote:I don t know the fx should be free !
https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/rules
Should be easy enough to replace your Waves etc plugins with similar ones which are in the DAW or 3rd party with a little re-mixing!

Yes, hivkorn, even within Fathom you can replace all commercial plugs...doctorbob wrote:Hi, the rules can be found here ...hivkorn wrote:I don t know the fx should be free !

That was insane! Glad I actually gave good advice for once. \m/progtronic wrote:TheNeverScene suggested I incorporate some of my typical, crazy, heavily progressive style.. into my next OSC submission.
So...
Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

I will just take the same advice. I read it as "be yourself no matter what"...; - )

Lol at the non-Euclidean geometry. This is definitely a curious place to go I guess there must be a wormhole to get thereprogtronic wrote:"R'lyeh is a sunken city located deep under the Pacific Ocean and is where the Great Old One, Cthulhu (actual inventor of FM synthesis.. probably) is interred.
