Ableton compressor sidechain on sub bass

I dont know why but it doesn't seem to duck all the lows of a sub bass. You can see in the display that it's doing what it's meant to but the result doesn't match. Say you're trying to duck a kick, put it on a synth then duplicate the same settings on a sub bass...the synth will duck completely but he bass only slightly. I want the same volume level as the synth ducking, why cant it do this on a deep bass? Always end up with choppy synths over long decay sub bass with a click where the attenuated signal should be. The only way around the click is an eq cutting of any high but then you're left with the above problem. So the attack and release doesn't smooth it out like it should. This is starting to annoy the crap out of me. Any way around this?

Something strange going on there, I just tried it and it works as expected. Can you share a project file where this happens? Another thing to do is of course contacting support@ableton.com ...
