This will be super helpful but only if you have too much free time. I don't want to bother you. You can also just pick the most problematic part only.
FathomSynth wrote:TrojakEW, That will be fixed in today’s release. If notes are close together the attack phase should start where the release phase left off. This change was made recently so that slow pads sound better.
Nice. This may also solve other ADSR related problems that I have.

Well as it was already mentioned by doctorbob some presets may sound little diferent in "dry" state. I have started to tweak my presets (Brass, Strings, French Horns) from first track and I was able to make them sound like in track right from Fathom synth if there is interest in my poor sound design.

Post

Yes, definitely, TrojakEW. I'd love to see some of your sounds :)

Voted! Oh wait.......finished!

Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

Hi folks!

Here me FATHOM track :hyper:

The most sounds are made from scratch, because my computer had difficulties to handle this synth :-o
(Several crashes in Cubase for example when trying to connect an effect modul).
Heavy use of pitch- and modulation wheel.

- 15 instances of Cubase elements
- DAW-FX: compressor, limiter, reverb, EQ and maximizer
- Third party FX: Sanford reverb, OrilRiver and Meldas MLoudnessAnalyser

Thanks to FathomSynth for leaving us the plugin for the OSC :hail:
A very well concepted and good sounding synth in my opinion (also great GUI), although I had to optimize the audio performance of my PC

Greets from me and
good luck to all :tu:

Version 2.10.6 Beta :phones:

Improvements to the smooth envelope attack and decay algorithm for pads and leads.

Download from the Fathom OSC page.

Please don't forget to send in your Fathom presets after the contest!
PM here or email to support@fathomsynth.com.

We will be making a Factory Preset Bank with a sampling of presets from all the OSC contestants, and it may also include the complete song presets from the winners. This is a chance for your sound design name to be a permanent part of Fathom for all users world wide.

I will also be updating the company web site with links to everyone's sound cloud page.

My raw presets are pretty ugly (a lot of multi-instrument (percussion), velocity stack ("guitars") and post processing).. but, I'll make them available.

You could also link to the final "One Synth Challenge #109" playlist, player.. once it's created on soundcloud. Will be a great "demo" showcase tool (with all the entries included), to show off Fathom to potential customers.

I noticed Fathom would occasionally crash Reaper with some combination of Leet Delay and S.LA.X,
but other plugins bridged the gap.

The number thing that frustrated me about this synth was the gui performance. Second yes, general CPU, but gui performance really kills this the mood during sound design. That said, I really appreciate Fathoms updates during the OSC, the seeing which modulation was tied to which item let me jump in and out of patches quick.

Other than that, had fun. Didn't even time to explore sophisticated envelopes or advanced wave shaping (my first wave shaping synth), but I was happy with what I got out of it.

I think this is basically my track. In awe of what everyone has done here, I definitely have a lot of growing to do!

I know what you mean, though I wouldn't say ugly...hm...raw or basic. But anyway, it's the same here. Therefore I suggested to Everett to add a "raw materials" page to his fathom site, where he can collect raw patches and raw wavetables.
I often do a lot of basic work in VST Host up until I figure the preset has a raw form and I have a idea on how I can use it. Then I switch to Cubase, integrate them into the mix with lots of additional sculpting i.e. EQs, Reverbs, Delays, M/S stuff,...Though this time it's a little different, don't know why, but I ended up with quite a low number of fx for my standards...Anyway, I don't know whether my patches are everyones cup of tee, definitely not EDM compatible :D So let's see...

I really think the sound design for this month's entries has really been incredible.

It's funny I've actually heard a lot of stuff I didn't even know Fathom could do.
So I hope people will be willing to contribute their presets to a good cause.

Never underestimate your own work, a patch you developed for your song which you consider rudimentary could be the missing link to someone else's song. It could even be the one preset which convinces a Fathom mono user to buy the full product. I remember buying Sylenth and basically it was one relatively simple preset that I had never heard done before that pushed me over the edge to buy it, even though I already had ten soft synths at the time.

Post

I don’t need much to push me over the edge to buy a soft synth :D

Hi guys! I need some help. Does anybody know how to automate a modulation amount knob? Is this even possible with Fathom? It looks like the usual scheme "click on a nearby area" doesn't work.

Post

Click on the center of the modulation amount dial itself within the modulation slat,
so that the small knob center turns white, then click on the Add Mod button.

User's Guide section 5.6.10 Modulating the Modulation Amount.
