Does Apple allow beta testers? I could give it a go with a LinnStrument. The video doesn't show much about the architecture though...

Developers can invite you to beta test apps (via testflight).Tj Shredder wrote:Does Apple allow beta testers? I could give it a go with a LinnStrument. The video doesn't show much about the architecture though...
There are more infos about this synth in the Audiobus forum f.e.
KVR is not a good place for mobile apps.

Can iOS devices plus softsynths be totally integrated in a Windows DAW? If not how much can they?
Triggering them thru MIDI with is possible (e.g. with an iRig keys I/O interface) but do you still need to manually load the iOS synth and manually select the presets? Is MIDI automation possible?
I'd wish to see total recall: loading a song in your PC DAW and automatically set out the connected iOS device/synth.
Even better yet: I wish the option to port any iOS synths vst.
Especially Beepstreet Zeeon is a gem.

There are ways to load a whole set-up of iOS synths like you do in your desktop DAW since a lot iOS synths offer AUv3 version of their apps. But it´s all a bit wacky still and still far away from what you can do on your desktop.Timfonie wrote:Can iOS devices plus softsynths be totally integrated in a Windows DAW? If not how much can they?

Yes, Zeeon is great and might get a port.....bad news.....i guess mac only then maybe as well.
I personally would treat them more like a hardware synth you just record into your DAW of choice.
Otherwise it´s more easy to just use plug-ins. But some of these iOS synths really sounds amazing and often offer much better performance like MPE (Zeeon will get MPE too) which you even can play directly on screen like Model 15, Animoog, Model D, Volt etc.
The only thing which plug-ins does better mostly is FX or included FX in synths plus mostly the preset management is a bit terrible in most iOS apps (but it´s easy to import/export presets on the device as well with a few clicks).
I could imagine to just use iOS apps for synth if the workflow would be a bit better.
The biggest trouble might be still also lack of CPU with these monsters and Apple also seems to restrict the amount of RAM one AUv3 can use. So don´t expect to run 10 Model D or so even on the latest iPad Pro.
It´s all of course much better with macOS and iOS.

Thank you for your informative reply Cinebient.
Using iOS synths like they were external hardware synths will probably the best way to use them indeed.

Volt is out in the world indeed.Timfonie wrote:Thank you for your informative reply Cinebient.

Sadly is iPad only since i prefer the iPhone but Volt looks even more interesting than the Moog Model D. Polyphonic distortion is what i love!!

It says on the description "per voice distortion". I would call that a flaw - distortion starts to be fun if you get those combination tones, which requires to put all voices summed into the crusher...
Waiting for some demos...

Per voice distortion is what stand out for me in Repro and P900!Tj Shredder wrote:It says on the description "per voice distortion". I would call that a flaw - distortion starts to be fun if you get those combination tones, which requires to put all voices summed into the crusher...

Otherwise you mostly get a noisy mess.
These distortions are also driven by the amplitude amount.
Not all distortions/saturations are great of course. Not sure yet how good it is in Volt.
It´s great in Repro and outstanding in P900 f.e.
