Hi all
My track:
https://soundcloud.com/zarf/zarf-earthrise
Many thanks to the dev for being so supportive :tu: I've not had loads of time this round, and to be honest I've found the synth a bit frustrating to work with, but it is a cool synth with some great features and a good sound and I appreciate the opportunity to work with it :) Also thanks for all the presets which I built upon quite a bit this month due to time constraints.
Good luck everyone :D
18 Fathoms in Ableton Live.
Ableton eqs, compressors, delays, reverbs, utilities, multiband dynamics

That's all folks!

I had high hopes at the start of this round. Initially after reading the user manual I decided to use wavetable oscillators and fancy RSH modulation to imitate granular synthesis techniques, and now I somewhat regret this decision. As it turned out the synthesizer features I attempted to use were implemented very poorly. Every time I tried to do something too clever I had to send more and more bug reports. And though I appreciate all the help from Everett I have to say this plugin still requires additional work. Example: when I open my project with just 7 instances of this plugin my PC immediately runs out of 4 GB memory and starts using a swap file.

So I had immense troubles getting my track finished and in the end I don't like the result. But maybe someone might find this minimalist ambient composition interesting from the sound design viewpoint.

Good luck everyone!!

Thanks again to BJ Porter and FathomSynth (Everett) for this month's challenge.
Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

Thanks everyone for using Fathom and for your late nights creating such amazing songs.

I will be updating the Seaweed Audio web site to feature your SoundCloud tracks.
I will also work hard over the next month to resolve some of the usability issues.

Remember to zip up and send in your song presets:

My entry for OSC 109…

So, for this month I just decided, forget making all my own sounds, I’m just going to grab some Vengeance sample packs and go, and just submit something to the OSC and see anyone notices. Make sure you layer your traditional 909 clap with a good 808 Snare, and don’t forget to layer it with a snare from the Amen Break! Everyone knows you have to do that to make real music.

Just Kidding :) Happy April Fools… I guess?

Ok, for real now…

mmGhost - Analgesia

TAL Reverb 4 (Amaze)
Yohg W1 (of course)
AirWindows DrumSlam

and…
Limiter No.6 (Wow, this thing really blew me away, first time using. I actually can’t believe it’s free, and i’ve just barely scratched its surface)

I made some of the sounds by morphing some of the factory presets (especially the pads, and one of the lead layers). But everything else was done from init (Bass, all drums/percs, foley, etc). Guitar sounds worked out with one of the factory wavetables, a LPF, some camel crusher, and lots o’ reverb.

I’m not sure if i was using the synth right but i got a lot of really nice clanky bell sounds by playing the MIDI keyboard in a super high register and letting the synth lose it’s mind (maybe aliasing or something…) it’s a neat little thing i stumbled upon when i accidentally nudged my MIDI keyboard like 3 octaves too high.

I second that!

Limiter 6 has 3 skins, my fav is the black and red, because black and red just sounds better.
