Currently I believe that we will see Studio One 3.6 at Musikmesse 2018. Not 4.0.
The reason is that it took them 4 years from 2.0 to 3.0. So if we take that into account then Musikmesse 2019 is the most likely release date for 4.0.

However I also feel that 4 years are really a LOT (too much) between major versions!
Well maybe - just maybe - they are already prepared to fire up 4.0 in April. But I really doubt it. There always has been a x.6 version so far.

So my guess is that 3.6 is ahead.

Will S1 get ARA2?

My feeling is if Reaper gets ARA2 then so will S1.
Perhaps I am expressing my hope!

The Studio One youtuber Johnny Geib, has let a cat out the bag prematurely in relation to 4.0...not by what he has said but by what he has shown and deliberately tried to hide from view... 51.22..

Not sure who caught that, but good eye. I wonder if him foldering the application actually had the negative effect of drawing even more attention to it.

I'm updating my Studio One 4.0 prediction to include this new one: the desktop icon will stay the same.

Haha, yes, the icon looks inverted so it could just be an easy way to distinguish between 3 and 4. Still this is an extra step that could be called gratituous (if done by presonus - the dude could have done it himself). I think its very likely a new skin is in the works. If it is a clean white based one, all the better, if done correctly (hint the above video is not

I hope the icon is not an indication that we're going to see a white default GUI. They're too tough to work with in dark rooms. The good news is maybe we will see a new version at Musikmesse (as someone predicted in this thread a few days ago) after all. I'm certainly glad that the pace of development has picked up and just hope 4.0 continues on the progress made in 3.5 in terms of listening to top customer requests.

Well surely with V.4 we can only hope for more revolutionary, proprietary, game-changing new plugin standards like we got with Mix Engine FX and its Console Shaper. The DAW world shat its collective pants with the -- and I quote -- "analog mixer system topology and componentry through State Space Modeling" offered by the now studio-standard Console Shaper. We also all remember how, just as promised, so many third party companies jumped on board to provide plugins for this truly revolutionary Mix Engine FX design, because what other daw was offering such professional words as topology and componentry?

Surely V.4 can only raise the bar yet again to a whole new level of imaginary standards.

Frankly, i have to facepalm hard at the way this stuff is "leaked" these days though. Do those people not have any manners, or sense of responsibility? It's like applying to a beta, accepting the NDA, and then Tweet all about it. Ridiculous profiling obsession. If i was Presonus, i'd never give that guy a free copy again.

It would have been funnier if he had closed Studio One 3.5 and opened 4.0 accidentally, and quickly shut it down so know one wouldn't (hopefully) notice and carried on from there haha...buy hay, once the cat's out the bag when it wasn't expected to be... you can't reverse it, even if you delete the video...

Oh well, no shock surprise reveals of the release date this year then... but a 2 year wait for 3.5 and 1 year to 4.0 is particularly odd.

Presonus is around 6 months ahead in development of the actual release version, so how much in what they have managed to accommodate from users wishes and implement in that time..is slightly worrying.
