However, melda mxxx now offers transient/tonal as a crossover.....so the possibilities there (with the 90ish effects/modulation system) is insane. Quite heavy on cpu tho...that’s the only problem thus far.
Anyone else using this?
I own the Eventide Anthology XI bundle, including the Physion (former Fission, name conflict with the iZotope?). I use it time to time, I think its a great effect to play with. I agree with DavidCarlyon, that Eventide seemed to run out of steem developing, not only the Physion, but the whole Structural Effects -concept. I hope I´m wrong with that.
Anayway, it looks very much so, now more than a year after launching the concept.
Companies such as Unfiltered Audio, Sonic Charge and Sugar Bytes seem to be much more agile and innovative with their product development, overtaken in many areas the effects king, despitete the great legacy of the Eventide.
I really wish the Eventide gets new boost, more fresh ideas and flexibility to their productization. :tu: They may suffer the "Gibson disease", stuffy upper organization... :?:

They changed the name to physion, Harry? Didn’t know that.
Yes hen I look at companies like unfiltered audio (LOVE their stuff), melda (put out over ten plugins in the first year I owned the everything bundle) and others, ompanies like eventide, sonnox, and other titans of yore, the development is slow.
That said, I love the quality of the latest oxford stuff. Also, I LOVE the elevate limiter brought out under the eventide banner. Seriously amazing stuff.
Were they supposed to bring out more plugins with that technology?

Oh, speaking of melda dvelopment speed - they encorporated a similar technology (transient/tonal separation) and incorporated it over their ENTIRE FX LINE of almost 100 plugins. Hahah. Crazy. That’s why I love them.

Never heard of an izotope Fission

I use MXXX quite a bit for this sort of thing. And also for lots of other things. As far as I can tell it works at least as well as the eventide stuff for separation of the sound. If you just want a split transient/ sustain for separate processing than you can do it for free with phase tricks and dynamics processors. Honestly there's not much use in splitting the two with a more complex method unless the signal also has a large noise component which also needs to be split off.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

I've tried using 2 Melda plugs and matching the settings to get the tonal/transient stream on two channels for further processing outside the Melda ecosystem. It's the only way I can see to do it. A right arse to set up. I need to look into Max For Live and see if I can make something that controls both plugs simultaneously.

Unfiltered Audio''s G8 can also fake tonal\transient processing. Set the gate to one-shot mode, and route the reject outputs to a second channel. The 2 channels sum back to the original sound perfectly, which is extremely handy. It only works on material with 'obvious' transients of course. Great for drums and the like.
