"Bounce audio recordings to REX loop format"
That's dope. Can you can edit Rex files in Reason or is that just in the old Recycle?

Is there seriously no Rewire. It would have been an instant buy for me if there was.Roman Wisniak wrote:No Rewire = No need to buy

Studio One Artist doesn't have a track limit, though. I was pretty tempted to get Essentials previously, because IIRC it didn't have a track limit and had VST support..THE INTRANCER wrote:I can't help feel that the timing of this is uncanny with recent leaking events. The pricing is right around where Studio One 3 Artist is, but includes VST support as standard. Things are going to be getting interesting.

The track limit in Reason 10 intro should be able to be gotten around by sub routing the audio through the rack mixer and devices. Being able to split the signals from devices to make new sounds and have them routed through one or more stereo channels. So if my understanding is that if the props haven't done any tom foolery with signals to get in the way on the rack, then the limitation is more theoretical than truly restricted.zenophilix wrote:Studio One Artist doesn't have a track limit, though. Studio One Artist at it's base price doesn't have track restrictions but it doesn't have VST support which essentially doubles the price of it if you want it.
I've never been one for half baked solutions when it's come to audio production software... it's always been all or nothing.

That's fair. I end up layering a lot of instruments over the same notes, so 16 tracks+clever routing+automation to bring things in and out if needed would probably be enough.THE INTRANCER wrote:The track limit in Reason 10 intro should be able to be gotten around by sub routing the audio through the rack mixer and devices. You rang?festeringheap wrote:I see. Well, I would hate to spend 100 US Dollars only to find out that certain functions are not available. And please don't behave like I should give you all the answers. I'm just a guy who stumbled upon this info on FB and posted here and I need to do my own research, reading and deduce this from limited information. You can too.
But thanks for starting the thread - I am somewhat interested in this Intro.
There is no demo for Reason Intro. However, the workflow features are pretty much identical. I wanted Reason Intro to be as close to Reason as possible in terms of how you work so that if you like it and upgrade, it'll be a very similar experience.
In terms of differences from the full version, the main ones are:
- Limited to 16 audio and/or instrument tracks
- Does not include Grain, Malström, Radical Piano, Klang, Pangea, Humana in the instruments section
- Does not include The Echo, Synchronous, Neptune, BV512 Vocoder, Pulveriser, Alligator,
RV-7 Reverb, D-11 Distortion, ECF-42 Filter, PH-90 Phaser, UN-16 Unison, Comp-01 compressor,
PEQ-2 EQ in the effects section - Does not support ReWire
Hope that helped!

No you couldn't. There was a sale on the upgrade from Reason Essentials, the previous entry level version. Partially because we've now discontinued it. The full Reason was still €349 (though it happens to be on sale for €259 right now).ATS wrote:you could of got full reason for this price just last month. What's the big deal?

OK for $25 more than this you could realistically.

the lack of ReWire is a deal breaker. strange decision. connect Reason Intro to Ableton Live and you could have a lot of fun, but ... .

I don't quite understand your math. Reason Intro is $99, Reason on sale is $299. So it's for $200 more..?ATS wrote:Anosou wrote:No you couldn't. Reason Intro does support Ableton Link. It actually works pretty damn well for just quickly getting ideas down in sync and then exporting, should you want to put stuff in clips in Ableton.mellotronaut wrote:the lack of ReWire is a deal breaker. strange decision. connect Reason Intro to Ableton Live and you could have a lot of fun, but ... .![]()

i did an upgrade from Reason Adapted to Reason 10 instead of doing an upgrade from Reason 9.5 to Reason 10, because it was cheaper.Anosou wrote:I don't quite understand your math. Well - I was always on the fence for buying Reason, but I prefer to work a while (certainly longer than that one month for the trial version) with a Intro/Limited/Starter edition of a DAW. For me the Reason Essentials version was simply too limited (especially compared to other "intro" software from Cubase, Ableton, Bitwig and so on) to do a real "in depth" and lengthy test run.
This Intro version however, gives me more than enough stuff to do a real realistic long enough trial. The missing rewire functionality is no problem for me. I never used this, and rather export audio from another DAW to mix it down in my trusty Cubase 9.5 (or do a end master in WaveLab Elements). But hey - Who knows. Maybe mixing down in Reason works for me too (as long as I can use my "to go" plug-ins from Izotope, FabFilter and so on).
If I like this Intro version I will probably upgrade to the full version. This, however, depends on the price this upgrade is going to cost me. I hope this will be a bit reason-able (yeah, lame joke - I know, I know).
So - I am going to buy Reason Intro within a few weeks. This new version really seems to be worth the money. I am looking forward to it. Nice!
