FL Studio : step sequencing effects

Hello, this is a question for FL Studio users.
Do you know if and how I can step sequence effects? For example, I would "link" a parameter of a filter (for example, cutoff) to a step sequencer channel (midi out I assume?) and I could edit its value by entering notes in the step sequencer.
I know that this is possible to do in some hardware sequencers and also in some VSTs, but it would be great to be able to do it directly into the FL step sequencer.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi,
Step sequencer (blocks) offers parameters like velocity, pan, filter, resonance per note. You can associate the parameter or FX you want to edit to the velocity (most VSTs offer cut off to velocity etc.)
In piano roll, almost the same concept complies but with much deeper editing and finer steppings.
If your required destination effect can't be linked to velocity, then you may just (Edit Events) in the piano roll. That can be achieved by right clicking the destination parameter and then choose (Edit Events) - That is in the scenario of FL native plugins
For 3rd party plugins:
Move the required parameter/knob, slider/button etc. using the mouse, then go to (Tools) => (Last Tweaked) => (Edit Events).
Although things will be much more elegant & convenient if you are going to use automation clips.

Or, if it's a 3rd party VST3 plugin then you can link via right clicking, as with native FL Studio plugins.
I second using automation clips for this. That would be most flexible and fast.

Thanks guys for your answers, I appreciate it!
I was aware of the use of automation clips, as well as the edit events function, and I do use them on a regular basis (mostly automation clips).
My idea was to link steps of the step sequencer to fx parameters, in particular a LP filter, so I that I can improvise fx sequences just by clicking on the steps of the sequencer via my midi controller in real time.
For example, no step would be 100% cutoff and C5 would be say 50% cutoff.
I don't know if this was very clear to start with

You could use the envelope controller plugin for that.

start by adding a midi out device into the channel rack. this'll let you send midi notes via the step sequencer.
i think you will need some other modules connected if you wanna use those notes to trigger other more complex automations (probs need env controller module or something, sorry don't have time)
