...least we forget (maybe I should have checked to see if this was posted - if so, it needs a second spot.) BTW, not that this has anything to do with this thread, but this album would not have been anything like it was/is without Bowie and Ronson.

Always loved Joy Division's bass - so innovative at the time the way they used it to structure the whole song, melody and rhythm. Although very different musically I felt this had more in common with 70's funk and disco than rock - something that later bands like A Certain Ratio and to an extent New Order more explicitly referencedRichard deHove wrote:
