By the way, the sample files on the two TG ONE memory cards will -only- work on the TG ONE. You can add your own samples, though(*)
The memory cards are just regular microSD cards, though, so do yourself a favour and make a backup just in case.
(* Although Ive duplicated the originals onto new SDcards, so I can keep the original cards safe)

ah i see, that explains why you would get the second tg one rather than the other options.
good idea doing the back up and standard cards, then keep the originals in the box safe.
im looking forward to hearing which bits hes chosen

im keeping an eye on the voltage block becoming available again and the anti-oscillator. also looking at voice mixers.
whatever i order next, must remember "patch cables" they don't go far
i could also do with some for the bug, just have to decide if i can cope with the boredom of soldering 50 plugs on to cable

Hmmm, the Voltage Block looks interesting.
I wound up being unable to decide on a ONE vs a second TG-ONE so I wound up pulling the pin on both.

The Voltage Block is great as a bunch of stepped/clocked modulation sources. I most use it to modulate drum voices. I've also used it, without a clock as a kind of patch programmer (each step is a different state for 8 parameters, pressing the step buttons to access each state. Since each channel can have independent length and clock division, it can get pretty complex... but the manual doesn't cover a lot of the deeper functions. You can find a lot more information in the Voltage Block thread on Muff's.
It also has a neat Arpeggiator mode where only the held steps are active (like Rene).

rene is lots of fun.
just getting my head around maths before delving deeper in to rene though, i saw in videos theres deeper functions using the touchplates at the very top

I'm not much of a filter guy. Most of the filters I have are based on Salen-Key topology (MS-20 style). Of that type, I can recommend the Make Noise MMG, Doepfer A-106-1 and Intellijel Korgasmatron.
I like The Harvestman's (I can't bring myself to use his company's new name) Polivoks filter and Livewire's Frequensteiner (Steiner-parker filter). I'm not much of a fan of transistor ladder (Moog) filters.
I also really like Mutable Instrument's Shelves. It's more like a VC-EQ but it can also has outputs for normal LP, BP and HP.

I'm not big on subtractive stuff generally, am more of an LPG type. But I have:
Three Sisters: sounds pretty great, can't dial away the resonance, but is PERFECT for filter FM. Nice variable width bandpass. You can use the high, center and lowpass sections with independent audio sources, mix and split and whatever. (Unlike many Eurorack modules, it is 100% fine to mix its outputs passively with a mult or Stackable.) Has a formant mode, and if you push the resonance it'll generate three almost-sines. And you can use one of those (or a mix, or whatever) to FM itself.
Cinnamon: I like it for "clean" utility filter stuff, but it also has three switches that will overdrive it and dirty it in various ways.
Both do excellent kick drums.
I also had a Doepfer A-102 VCF9 diode filter, based on the EMS Synthi design I believe. It sounded just fine to me, but I really didn't need three filters and it was the least capable in terms of features.
