The filter has the resonance at max and it’s a 24 dB/Oct one (so steep filter). Feeding any kind of sound with max resonance and you have just a resonant sound at cutoff frequency.

I've managed to recreate those blips with cutoff & resonance etc, and am enjoying some sound design.msvs wrote:exactly, the blips are made by the resonance in the filter, turn the resonance down and they are gone. The cutoff and res and panning is modulated by lfos and their rate by mod envs
However, I do find that when I do have these blips in a pad I'm designing I often get some feedback whereby the frequencies just increase on top of each other and start to build up and distort, and it can sound muddy and grow in loudness.
Is there any trick where you can avoid this frequency buildup/feedback distortion ?
I might end up adding blips via an Arp too actually...

tried to set the resonance to "balanced" instead of "additive"? So it will not increase volume
furthermore the kind of filter determines, how much resonance it has

Question about the expansions folder:
I've just reinstalled my PC with the latest Avenger.
I've now got 2 locations with Expansions:
A previous one in my D:\Users\username\Documents\Vengeance VPS Avenger content\expansions
And a current one in C:\ProgramData\Vengeance\VPS Avenger\expansions
Can I safely delete the previous one? both folders are 6.4GB?

Is this really really good ? I'm looking for a synth/sampler hybrid, but with a not to bloated interface (Camel Audio Alchemy) replacement. Other candidate so far is Motu Machfive 3 Not enough time to demo. Thanks for the inputs.

You should definitely demo it before because it is very demanding on cpu/gpu! It's not a notebook/macbook synth and various users reported it will not run smooth on amd cpu/ati gpu. A screen resolution greater than full hd is recommended. It is way more synth than sampler but its sample manipulation possibilities are good. Some say the ui is bloated with stuff (like the library, they keyboard) they don't use often but things like the mod matrix is too small. The main selling point focuses on the expansions like in nexus.KoolFartWind wrote:Is this really really good ? Okay, thanks a lot for the info. I'm looking for a desktop synth (atm i5 2500k @4ghz and 1060 geforce). On the go I use Linux with Renoise and u-hes. I am looking for a workhorse for more realistic sounds, rather than innovative sound design. I will further demo it.
Really like the factory instrument samples so far. If the cpu load becomes a problem one can still resample.

Regarding the expansions : Is there a non-electronic one planned ? For instance an expansion with classical/tribal instrument presets ?

Is there the ability to assign a Macro Button to switch on or off an effect in the FX rack?
(If not, that would be a nice feature request).

Thanks. True, but all my macro knobs were used up with other stuff.msvs wrote:no but you can assign its dry/wet level, which is basically the same
Maybe you could consider adding it as a feature in the future?
@Amram, thanks.
