Why are we forced to keep previous installers, Devs should keep previous version archives.

And they most likely do, but you gotta contact NI support for that. NA doesn't support rolling back to previous versions, as it is now. It might at some point, but there was no clear confirmation on that front.topaz wrote:Why are we forced to keep previous installers, Devs should keep previous version archives.

Sure, but sometimes we need to rollback right away.
I will be keeping backups from now on

Anyone knows what to clear in registry to be able to run the installer?
Just because you haven't had problems doesn't mean there are no problems. Anyway I've had no issues with Native Access on my studio computer because I've decided to stick with the Service Center and pass on installing this Kontakt update. From what I've read today that decision will stand for the foreseeable future.martinjuenke wrote:I‘ve had no problems at all. Well, the uninstaller worked. So I just had to install a previous version and update that, which worked this time. I keep installers for all Kontakt versions, so I was able to sort it in 15 minutes once I found about the fix tool. It pissed me, but in the end it can pass as a minor annoyance.
KSP limits change for controllers and arrays is great news and I'm going to jump right into it. I imagine many devs will, so i might be worth the trouble to fight with Native Access to get the update sometime soon.

NI makes some of the best virtual instruments in the market, they have one of the best "bang for the buck" packages in the market. They revolutionized the world of synthesis with Reaktor, and they revolutionized the world of sampling with Kontakt. Of course they deserve to be supported. What's your problem?rasmusklump wrote:Zombie Queen wrote:They're funny things, Accidents. Same here. I'm a Komplete 10 Ultimate customer, with a wide selection of additional 3rd party libraries (from Spitfire, 8dio, Audiobro, Embertone, yada yada) for Kontakt. I've frozen the update state of all of this, to the last version still supporting Service Center, and my dedicated audio/music workstation works flawlessly in this state. I'm strongly in the camp of "don't fix it if it isn't broken", and at this time updating to Native Access would serve no purpose for me whatsoever. All it would do is, pose a risk of having to do completely unnecessary troubleshooting and reinstalling of numerous 3rd party libraries, trying to get this work "just because."Teksonik wrote:I've decided to stick with the Service Center and pass on installing this Kontakt update. Until there is an actually compelling reason to transition -- I'm sure it will come, there just hasn't been one yet, and I'm not expecting one in the near future -- I'm just going to forget about the whole thing again, and keep using the setup as it currently is. I have images of the system in this state, so even if something fails on the hardware side, I'm just going to throw that image back in instead of going with NA

That's the rub, and it usually doesn't take very long. Every time a Player library is updated, it is now forced to be latest version only by NI, and of course new Player libraries are also latest version only. So all the while you update nothing (including bug fixes and new content for stuff you already own) and buy nothing you're ok. For many people, that's not very tenable as a long term position.Guenon wrote:....Until there is an actually compelling reason to transition...
I have no issue with NA per se, but they do need to fix the Add Library issue for NI libraries as a minimum. Komplete Kontrol is similarly a very poor piece of software, that imo isn't fit for purpose. I've mentioned this before, but it's hard to understand how NI can make products that are so good and so advanced on the one hand, and yet core apps feel like they have had almost zero resources put into them.

Just to be clear, I am also a HUGE ni fan, and a Komplete Ultimate user.
I only have an issue with Major Libraries not working in a general release.

True that. Personally, I haven't yet seen anything in the updates of the libraries I own that would make the new system a must have, but everyone's mileage will depend on what products they own and how they work, yeah. As the ones I use work so well in these Service Center era versions, at the moment it's more like: when is there a new feature introduced in some library that I think is just so good it starts to sound like a nice risk vs. reward propositionnoiseboyuk wrote:That's the rub, and it usually doesn't take very long. This is of course very different if there are, for example, bugs in some library someone really needs to have fixed in order to keep working, and can't get those fixes without also going NA.
