Is ti possible in Cakewalk to multi-slice a clip, for example if I multi-slice first 1/16th note of a clip, it will get sliced every 1/16th note. (not the best video, but you got the picture)

Maybe something like this is what you are looking for? Not sure about the 16th note thing, but it will detect beats.

SONAR: Go Deeper - AudioSnap 2.0 Slicing and Sampling
I mean general slicing, many times I slice the midi out, for example I import whole session in MIDI and every channel is one big MIDI file, all I want is to have it sliced every 8 bars for example, In Logic I do that with multi-slicing first 8 bar of the MIDI clip, huge time saver, opposed to going in and slicing every 8 bar of clip manually.
Yes, you can use the split repeatedly command on the track.
https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation? ... 2.109.html
Split Repeatedly/Starting at Measure/And Again Every “N” Measures
Choosing this option creates split boundaries in the selected clip(s) starting at the location you choose in the Starting at Measure field, and again at every interval of measures that you choose in the And Again Every “N” Measures field.

Palm oil you say? This means that I have already paid indirectly for this DAW through my nutella consumption in the last few years. :hihi:

Don't have time to mess with it at the moment, and didn't wan't to miss the window. My music PC is actually sitting like an old Chevy on blocks right now, and I won't have it running for a week or two. Wasn't asking about features of Platinum compared to Artist; I was asking if it was an upgrade from 23.8.0, i.e. does it include fixes beyond 23.8.0. Generally, any glitches existing in Artist will exist in Platinum as well. Thanks, though.
zzz00m wrote: The last released version of Sonar Platinum was 23.10.0. So yes the new Cakewalk would be based on that. So in my opinion that would be an upgrade.

The 'Duplicate track button' was added in 23.9.0. Various fixes and enhancements were added to both versions 23.9.0 and 23.10.0.

You can access the changelog here for what was added between 23.8.0 and 23.10.0:

Thanks, zzz00m. That's what I was after.

Awesome, thanks for the time and patience, have an enjoyable Monday.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? :D ShawnG

Ok, got another one, last one for tonight, can we set project end, so when we zoom out we only can work inside given measure, right now when I zoom out I'm seeing like 911 measures, I don't want to work in more than 200 really, stuff got tiny so fast, it makes zooming in/out quite a PITA.

Can't grasp how screenset will solve my problem, still I got tons of measures when I zoom out...
With a screenset you can save your zoom level, so save a screenset at the maximum level you want to zoom out

you can go in the Plugin page, select the VST, and edit its properties to load as either an instrument or an FX.

Downloaded, installed, and tried for almost 2 hours to find how to delete an empty track that I created while trying to configure the 4 separate outputs of the TTS-1 GM instrument. Coming from cubase, (sx3, still) where this operations are pretty straight forward, I had to give up for tonight... I only hope that the manual is good enough and easy to use to find these basic things... will try again tomorrow using the manual... :help:

You don't need to edit properties. Any synth can be put into the FX-bin and receive audio this way - if it has an audio input.

Thanks, but doesn't work in Sonar. I'll buy you a beer if you can figure out how to make it work. :D

That's the issue! Sonar apparently cannot see an audio input with this plug-in! Sonar only recognizes this as an instrument, but not an FX plug-in. So no audio input.

right click on track and select delete from menu. does not seem to have a working shortcut for that, I've tried a few ALT+underline shortcuts based on the menus and none have worked so far

(I had to turn on the shortcut function in win10 - still do not know how to open the right click menu from the keyboard but once opened then the shortcut works

Okay - shift +f10 opens a right click menu in win10)

All new daws require figuring out, even the venerable Cubase, and I would have to learn how to do simple stuff in that. This is the best reason to find one daw we like and learn it inside out.

But as regards deleting a track in CwBl, its as easy as right click on the track number at the track beginning and selecting delete track. :)

if only I'd thought of that and mentioned it in the previous post LOL :)

(doesn't have to be in the number, can be anywhere in that first whatever it is called bit)

Thanks, Woggle and dellBoy -- my mistake was not knowing that (unlike cubase where right clicking anywhere on a track opens always the same menu), in Cakewalk rightclicking on an empty area at the right side of the track opens up a totally different menu than rightclicking on the left side of the same track! :o :)
