No, Matthias, it doesn‘t suck. It’s cool. Best drum sampler on the market.

Post

I think one of the best features of Battery is the ability to setup authentic articulations on each pad.

Post

Its super efficient and can have about a million drum pads. Although, I would actually prefer if it
didn't have any effects in it myself. Not to mention, just about every 3rd party drum sample library
is going to have preset kits for it.

The wavealchemy stuff is cool, but I chose the offerings from Soniccouture, although I do have a bunch of WA
sample packs. For me the big Kontakt libraries are often too slow and heavy. Battery is not.

Because it´s just play samples. I can do the same with Maschine in a similar procedure.
and the NI offer this days in combination with 2 Expansions for free i must asked this question

Or should i asked:
Why should a maschine owner buy Battery 4?

It might be your favourite, and I've made it clear that I like it, but it is nowhere near to being the "Best drum sampler on the market"

If I have Geist 2 running in a project, Battery will refuse to load...out of respect

Got Battery 4 with Komplete, have used it on a few tracks but can get the same results faster using drum racks in Ableton, and now I'm getting up to speed with Geist 2 I use that for anything that would be too complicated to do with drum racks. As an earlier poster said, you get most of the fx that Battery comes with when you buy Komplete so not sure exactly what its niche is any more (articulations aside).

i must asked again.

Why should a Maschine User buy Battery 4 when he update to 2.7.4 ?:hihi:

Post

I have all the Geists as well, often I don't want to wade through all that complexity, I also don't
want the effects there either. I have too many other cool effects and am loathe to use built-ins.

That said, Battery isn't anywhere near being my favorite drum sampler. I like Nuance I think, and
Tal-Sampler. I do have them all though pretty much. :hyper:

No Maschine here though...

Ah, I see. Yes, from this perspective, I can understand, It doesn't sucks, but it's a different approach. A similar software to Maschine would be FXpansion Geist.

Battery is great. So many tweakabilities inside. When 4 came out there was indeed something changed concerning the library-management. But - if the Battery 3 samples are on your HD it's possible to relink/find them again and use them in Battery 4. So for me it's still a very useful drummer.

NB) 300 nice (& free) samples from Wave Alchemy Evolution to import into Battery (and others).

Damn I forgot I have Battery :dog: Forgot to install it in this PC!

Thanks for this thread :D installing now!

Anyway, isn't Machine the Battery that many waited? But NI thought to hardware it! I always thought what is missing in Battery is the sequencer, oh well!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Revolution is 50 % until april 20.

https://www.wavealchemy.co.uk/revolution/pid179/

The changes they are making to Evolution will also find their way to Revolution.
Oo, thanks for that. In fact, I liked the Evolution more. I will wait for the same discount for Evolution.
Yes, i do prefer Evolution myself.
But it is the newest product so probably not going on discount soon. (I got a serious discount because i already owned Revolution).

You might also consider their sample packs and load them into your daw's drum rack/sequencer.
A lot cheaper than Battery.

I would ask myself what i want and choose a product that way:

- do i want a sequencer included
- do i want effects included
- do i want multisamples
...

Revolution has all that in a high quality package (polyrhythms is coming up in the update). Nothing wrong with Battery but i see it as a simple drum sampler.

I cant speak for B4 but B3 was bad. Its playback engine was flawed, I dunno how it works but it couldnt cope with some samples. No drum sampler has coped apart from Poise, admitedly I make music with huge kicks but B3 created clicks and pops and couldnt cope.

Poise copes effortlessly.
