I'm trying to search for this but I don't know quite how to word it to find the correct result. Does anyone know where to find a USB controller that is not the keys but the knobs, sliders, and switches--a control board? I'm not looking for a costly synthesizer with sounds included, just a little panel that connects with USB and has no sound of its own. I have an enormous collection of vintage analog synth VSTis, but the problem is, it's a lot easier to make dramatic changes by twirling actual physical knobs and flipping actual switches than trying to move the onscreen controls with a mouse, which seems incredibly slow and clumsy sometimes. I liked being able to twirl, slap, flip, slide in rapid succession. I'd like to find an inexpensive USB controller that's just a panel of physical controls which are assignable within a DAW platform like MULAB with a VSTi like 'Minimogue,' for instance. Thanks for the help in advance.

That looks helpful, thank you. I don't see any swtiches but it still looks really versatile!

No switches as such, but, i think the lower row of buttons can serve as... buttons. :)

I read about it, and I'm not sure--it could just be that I lack the knowledge to know for sure--that it's the right kind of controller. I was hoping for something that looks like a minimoog panel--square wave/sine wave, 16/8/4 octave, that kind of thing. Metal switches. Big clunky sliders. This may be a little too modern.

I guess this is more like it then: https://www.thomann.de/de/roland_system ... 1_362078_1

Pretty costly though. There's also this, which isn't out yet though: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=486392

I'm afraid those wouldn't be overly helpful either, but I appreciate your help. I used to have a 1979 Realistic Concertmate, a cheapo Radio Shack version of the Minimoog. I still have it but it has many problems and doesn't work any more. The thing about keyboards then is that they had large knobs, big chunky parts, and everything was well-spaced. So you could grab a knob in your entire palm and twist the hell out of it in all different ways, because there was room to do that. I could slap a switch with the other hand, or use my palm to move a slider. What I really need is a panel with maybe three knobs, a few switches and maybe four sliders, all well-spaced so I can manipulate them easily. I wish I knew someone who could just make it for me, lol.

Its not that difficult to build it yourself, there are kits out there like:

Also Arduinos can be programmed for that...
What you envision is very special and therefore valuable. You want your own custom built instrument...
