Idea Tool - number of phrases

Hi.
I might be doing this wrong but in v3.44, when using the idea tool, it seems that I can only use a maximum of 4 phrases. Is that correct? Ideally, I'd like to be able to use a whole pot of phrases, randomly ordered to give more variety.

Is there a reason for the restriction or have I misunderstood the usage.

Hi Mike,

that is an intentional limit. Using more phrases will sound random. Repetition is important. Using repetition+variation is the best.

I am flexible so if you want to use more phrases, I can send you an update which allows maximum 8 phrases.
I'll have a hard time to make up sensible repetition patterns, but we'll see.
Like:
ABCDEFGH
ABACADAEAFAGAH
AABBCCDD.. ???
How many would you like to use?

Hi Atilla.
Many thanks for the reply. I see what you mean regarding the randomness.

The phrases I want to use will be custom and quite short and the variations will be small so hopefully it will confine the randomness. They are for modal counterpoint so will have very simple constructions.

I think 8 should do the trick, if that's ok with you.
