But, seriously, looks like some kind of groovebox or synth with a sequencer. It definitely has keys or buttons laid out like keys. I don't know what that paradigm shift is about (I don't even know what that means), but maybe it's just because it's their first standalone instrument, or it's analog, or it's paraphonic, or contains a frequency shifter, or whatever...
