Am I missing something? Were the pictures posted from the Superbooth flyer fake or something? I thought that we knew what this is, no?goldenanalog wrote:Your list covers it, yellowmix! But we can talk about a few things that have yet to show up:
A hardware synthesizer that uses either granular or waveform splicing - I haven't seen either yet (and would love to be corrected if I'm wrong)
What we haven't seen a lot of in hardware synthesizers are *polyphonic* synthesizers that use digital waveforms and analog filters for each voice. Sure: there's been a few, like the PPG and the original Emu E3 - Roland's JX8p used analog filters on each of it's (6) voices - but overall its a short list.
Very unlikely that there'll be a paradigm shift to see here. I honestly hope that there is. But either way: it's ok - I'm still curious what they're up to - and wish them success with it, too!
The pictures describe a simple monophonic analog synth with a built in sequencer and a multimode filter with a separate filter envelope for $199 euros. So it's, yet another, simple tabletop monophonic synth with limited real time control.

I've been banned from the GS thread for reposting those pics. I'm happy to see KVR are a lot more liberal on this front.

How can it be an actual "secret" if they are from Beat magazine?Mushy Mushy wrote:I've been banned from the GS thread for reposting those pics. I'm happy to see KVR are a lot more liberal on this front.

Looks like a Korg Volca Bass to me with a 50% price premium.goldenanalog wrote:IMHO: Peter should just jump in here and start talking about it - if the pictures reveal said item, maybe a little Q&A, time permitting?
1st, in a nutshell: what distinguishes UNO from the competition?

I’m not afraid, as would likely be indicated by the years I have been made to hang out here
(ok and the years before that... dammit, busted)
But... just because one magazine broke an embargo date, and there were apparently some things wrong with what they published doesn’t mean we’re forced to releasing everything earlier so some information will have to wait until the business week starts at very least
Let our people start traveling to the show first and we have even more and more verified accurate materials (and people using the product) before we jump the gun.
