zappa's involvement with the making of 'trout mask replica' was also a feather in frank's cap.

He also produced the first Alice Cooper LP but didn't want to spend much time in the studio.
Essentially, he showed them the record button.
Who knew AC would still be selling CDs all these years later.....

FZ approached Trout Mask as a kind of field recording. Apparently he felt there was something authentic he didn't want to bleach out of it. Vliet felt he was being cheaped-out by not going into a studio and doing all that. But we can see how some of that worked out, perhaps vindicating FZ's attitude and wisdom.

Frank bailed the guys out of jail who were caught stealing at the Safeway, story goes he did it quietly and without judgment. Sounds like my father.

It's interesting you should mention these guys. Some people might say that lead guitarist Warren DeMartini is the 'Frank Zappa of glam guitar'.

arranged actually by Ali N Askin (assistant to FX during the Yellow Shark production 1991-93).

easily the tightest I ever heard the compos
Black Page #1 drum solo; BP #1 with melody; BP #2 with the disco beat.

I think the explainer in the middle is Bruce Fowler. In the Amerika Drinks sort of finale sounds like him on 'bone as well. I think unmistakably so.

first time I heard the 1984 version with the riff from Owner of a Lonely Heart it was a literal ROFLMAO moment.
