Here is my entry.
Last month I didn't vote because I only used presets that were only slightly tweaked.
Even though I didn't vote, I still listened to everyone's songs and I was highly inspired.
Details:
Studio One 3 Professional
30 tracks
I used stock EQ as a filter and reverb as an effect
I also used stock delay and a limiter
Its a bit like the Cosby show theme, but its not jazzy, so I figure its okay. Thanks for listening.

I'm at least 47% happy at this point.. it'll have to do.mmGhost wrote:the struggle is real, constant and never-ending. i can all but promise you, you will never be 100% happy with your mix-down, ever. that's why this stuff is so addicting. there's just always so much room for improvement...progtronic wrote:OK.. took another stab at this mix (46th pass.. pls kill me.). This is literally the toughest thing I think I've ever tried to mix.
mmGhost wrote:...this is mostly why i plan to use approximately 237 instances of Klangelstein's Mixer Fixer on my tune.

I have restricted myself from listening to my track till after the deadline or els I would be constantly tweaking it.progtronic wrote:I'm at least 47% happy at this point.. it'll have to do.mmGhost wrote:the struggle is real, constant and never-ending. i can all but promise you, you will never be 100% happy with your mix-down, ever. that's why this stuff is so addicting. there's just always so much room for improvement...progtronic wrote:OK.. took another stab at this mix (46th pass.. pls kill me.). Thank you Peter. This is my first entry to the kvr osc events. I've watched the past ones but never entered. So this is really interesting to try. I hope I am doing everything correctly. I liked all the entries so far. Each one has a unique flavor good job everyone. You do some very interesting work too Peter. Nice entries I've heard. Good luck, Peace.] Peter:H [ wrote:Welcome Stohgs! Nice little track you have here...

Good thing all the links are plagued with 404 errors
Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

My entry:
Chroma
x54 JuceOPL
The AU version doesn't have the nice drag-and-drop SBI preset loader capability, so I did all the sounds without exploring the preset lib too much.
Logic Pro X - EQ, Stereo Delay, SilverVerb, Compressors, EQs, EQs, EQs, Autofilter (built in overdrive), Overdrive, Limiter, AdLimiter, Enveloper
Non-DAW - La Petite Exciter, W1 Limiter (drum duties), OTT, Limiter No.6, Tal Reverb 4 (x10^6 instances), Tal Reverb 2 (nice for some room effects), Air Windows DrumSlam
Oh yeah, and x237 instances of Klangelstein's Mixer Fixer (gotta search those torrents really hard man
)
Overall I found the synth to be really enjoyable. It's very simple, but modulating the modulators is always a win with these FM things. I find that I struggle a lot with FM synthesis so this was good practice. I was hoping to pay some homage to the roots of the synth with my intro, but then take it in a different direction.
Much love!
