Thanks! Now that's even more strange :)

Hi, OSC features your synth now, but I, too, can't load up the x64 version in MuLAB (www.mutools.com) on my win7 64bit.
msw error= -1073741795 = Couldn't create VST instance for Crust_x64

Seems like something is missing or a funny compiler setting, possibly? Too hard to tell from here for me.

Secondly, thanks for the report.

I'm sorry that some users can't take part in this challenge because of the issue. I'll see what I can do about that now, but I can't guarantee to solve it right away.

Big up, seems like a really cool synth!

64bit Live 9.7.1 doesn't recognize the plugin. 32bit version (live & plug) works thou.

Post

Hmm, x64 confirmed working in both Live 10 and 8 over here (Win7). Strange. Maybe it's indeed a case of needing correct redistributable/runtime libraries like Dr. Bob mused?

I tried it with Savi Host, just to test and it crashed with some more interesting information:
fault module name: mfc90.dll.

Code: Select all

  Problem Event Name:	APPCRASH
  Application Name:	Crust_x64.exe
  Application Version:	1.42.0.1
  Application Timestamp:	51c93cd1
  Fault Module Name:	mfc90.dll
  Fault Module Version:	9.0.30729.6161
This could be a hint to what might be missing.
Definitely don't have that on my win7 64 bit install. Seems like it was part of Visual Studio 2008. You should certainly consider updating! ;)

Don't give up too easily, mate, or ever at all, hehehe. Even I have managed to compile and release a 64/32 Vst and I know of the troubles. I didn't even have a fancy mac version... ...anyhow. We'll track it down!

Can't get the 64bit version to show up in Studio One Pro 3 (latest version). I'm on Windows 7; 64bit (fully updated).

Might take a break this month anyway. Last months challenge sorta murdered me..

prog, look at my post right above yours! I have no doubt that the problem is found and he only needs to update to the latest VS and do a fresh compile. It should solve all win7 64bit issues. Your track from last month is amazing! I'd love to hear another!!! :phones: :tu:

I can get the stand alone version to run (after I turn off my virus software..), but it just won't show up in S1. No errors or anything, it's just not being recognized and listed in my available plugins lists in the S1 browser.

Yes, the standalone runs here, too (except that it seems to crash the moment I change preferences Midi input)! It likely has everything it needs embedded. But not the DLL, which is why it won't show up!

To clarify i'm running 64bit win10 here.. I have Visual Studio community 2015 & 2017 installed (and also 2008 runtimes, not sure which version) so i'm assuming that the libraries should be ok?

Also Win10 64Bit. 32Bit version runs fine in Renoise but the 64Bit doesn't show up at all. Same goes (for the x64) in Live 9.7 however when Live starts, I can see on the splash screen the the plugin is being scanned but it does not appear in the plugins folder once startup is complete.

Messing with the 32Bit version, it seems really solid (for a pre-alpha). Hope this minor road-block gets sorted.

Is there a manual somewhere? I'd like to figure out what some of these little dots that light up do. I'd like to figure out what a couple of the little sliders do.

Is there a way to run both oscillators through a single filter, or both through the filters in serial?

This is a useful overview by the dev, basically a concise video manual (relinking from his post) :
