Yes, I know. Anyways, I won't be buying this thing. My paradigm shift has been a return to a good ol' all-valve/no DSP amp and 212 speaker cab. I'm a gonna rock our neighbours' world.... :o

The subject line is factually correct, it’s just that:

A) we, the public, don’t care about IK’s internal mission statement or future direction

B) I will concede they can be a leader given I have no evidence to the contrary. “The” is another ballgame altogether though.

If you read the additional marketing material it makes me sick in my mouth TBH. Like Kayne wanking himself dry in front of a mirror.

And as an added irony, a demonstration there, how to be commanding towards other people, I presume :)

My response was (obviusly) directed at the statement below.
chk071 wrote:That's why small one man show companies, which don't do that kind of marketing, and which will never rise above one man shows, are taken as examples on "how to do it right".
You wrote "... will never rise above one man shows ..." and I simply pointed out that u-he demonstrably has done exactly what you said it hasn't and would never do. An opportunity for you to check your attitude.

Wrong again. This is a forum. We communicate. If I disagree with someone's attitude I am free to point it out, and the other forum member can reply in turn. In fact he did, making it clear that he did not mean to offend. I got the chance to reflect on my reading of his message, and he got the chance to reflect on his conduct as a representative of his company. This is normal. No harm done.

Whether I want to buy a product from the company the other member represents is completely irrelevant. In fact I have an IK product on my wish list.

My quick take after listening to audio and video demos.

The big selling featured to me
#1 The abilty to record up to 20 parameters per sequencer step (fantastic).
#2 100 Pattern memory (fantastic)
#2 Multimode Filter (LP, BP and HP)
#3 Dual VCOs (variable waveshapes + tuning) + Noise Generator
#4 Cost - $200 (Free shipping and abilty to apply Jam Points to Pre Order)
#5 Separate ADSR for amplitube and filter + external control via midi possible.
#6 Good live performance features - scale selection in particular + battery power option
#7 Sounds good... not revolutionary but good.

Some drawbacks:

Lack of sync in and out means that it will be more difficult to integrate with the Korg Volcas and Arturia Brute family unless you are using midi. Perhaps that is possible but I couldn't see it in the demos.

External editor is announced but not shown.

I'd like a few more knobs on the front panel.

Other considerations : It is great that there is another player in the analog synth realm. Amazing value.

Regarding the marketing and those who are breathlessly clutching their precious pearls. Take your easily offended tripe down a notch and be thankful that there are companies competing for our dollars and attention. There are all kinds of reviews available often well before a product ships where we can and should compare the hype with the reality. My god... some of you people have way too much time on your hands to find offense in a product launch designed to create interest. Sheeesh.

Yes sex sells (me too...) But did you look closer? If she would really play that toy, she would have cut her finger nails instead of painting them...
She's a keyboard player. She can play, not just some random actress.

No...

It's a two-way street. They want our money... We owe each other nothing, nada, zip. Welcome to capitalism 101.

Take yourself off to unicorn land and find a safe space where you can bake cupcakes and snuggle up to those companies on big fluffy pillows.

Not surprised. As "boys" also has to comment on looks, no matter what a woman does.

Let's not go down the sexist route people, we're better than that.

However marketeers aren't people so they're fair game :D

This is the correct answer.
It may attract some people, but it pushes away more.

And this synth itself is as exciting as a new 808 vst. So they had to lie and be dishonest to gather interest.
