So, over 20 years ago I watched a show on TV that had a piece of background music I've been trying to ID for a long time. Someone posted a VHS rip of the exact same show on Youtube so I'm hoping someone may know who it is

Interesting, Shazam doesn't know it...
As a TV show was using it, and a completely unrelated Youtube video, it might have been part of a royalty free music collection...

Did that guy say "today's date is today"??
I don't recognize it. I highly doubt it's royalty-free music. If that was a locally made program, it might be a local band.
If you can find the full program, including credits, it is likely to be listed there.

It's quite rare that Google returns just one result:

Thanks for looking guys, interesting to see I'm not the only one who has been looking for this for an age! I had the clip on VHS too but alas I only ever recorded the skateboarding parts of the show so didn't get the end credits..

We tried that of course, but there were no useful search results.Aloysius wrote:If you know the lyrics, try them as part of a Google search.

Or IMDB, that's where credits usually go as well.Aloysius wrote:Is there a Wikipedia page for it? The film or series?

the voice sounds vaguely familiar, could just be a similar style though.
